  1. Heavy sleet with occasional flakes, my least favorite breakfast cereal, but enough to have slurpee coating on the deck and grass here in Tuckahoe by UR.
  2. Ugh, hate the NBC 12 weather app, woke up, saw WSW and thought awesome but disappointed to see WWA for our area. Maybe we will upgrade closer to event like last week. Thanks for posting Yoda. It is funny with the TV mets as JB is always predicting on the higher end and as much as Duncan loves snow (used to have a snowmobile) he always seems conservative.
  3. Good question. I might go back and check that thread.
  4. Maybe the Euro will deliver the goods. Will check back at 1:20.
  5. NAM looks juicier but a whole lot of orange (sleet) for us from the maps they are posting in the main thread.
  6. Yeah, this has been a strange week for model watching. Euro has the storm, ditches it but now GFS, NAM and ICON seem to be on board for something. Then, watched the forecast high for Monday go from 25 the beginning of the week to something like 52.
  7. It's a good flick and when she not all "peaches and cream" toward the end, she would make a good mod. Decent theme song by Sister Hazel too at the end.
  8. Okay, that was fun. Can we officially say "Next" now? Let's do another Sunday thing although this time without the mix or rain, limited the time that we could enjoy it. When I was younger, sure I could handle playing in the slush but now being older, want some powder.
  9. Certainly nice to have some flakes while walking the dog last night and then this morning, nice wintry landscape. Hoping for some Super Bowl Sunday, would be nice to have a fire in the fireplace, bourbon in my glass and some wings in the kitchen.
  10. Oh man, they are going to lose their collective minds up there if we beat their totals with this one.
  11. I am near west end, in Tuckahoe near UR. Miss my Goochland address from a few years back, always good for 1 to 2 inches more. If we can get 4 to 6, I will be more than happy. Just want enough to play with the kids and dog in before the changeover.
  12. Nah, never a warning level but we were under a watch and then they went, seems rightfully so at this point, with the WWA (the price is right horns in my head typing that).
  13. Well, if anybody can bring us some luck, it's a post from Midlo. Hate waking up to the WWA, it's like making the JV Basketball Team or going to the prom with your cousin. Holding out hope the short range models are on to something and get us in warning criteria.
  14. Just me lamenting...temps and mixing are always an issue here so just years of frustration for not living further north or west.
  15. No doubt. I think they will all err on the low side, easier to explain that than calling for a foot and getting 2 inches. If we have to work this hard for a shot at 4 to 5 inches, geez, just don't know how many storms we have left in this area.
  16. I thought it ticked up to 4-6" with some of the maps they posted in the storm thread. I have very bad and worse, untrained eyes so I could be mistaken but it even looks like we pick up a nice slug of moisture on the backend.
  17. That's a slight improvement for us in central VA compared to previous runs is it not? 0.4 to 0.9? Has the EURO ever caved to the NAM? I know they all have their victories but hard to bet against the King in winter.
  18. From what I can recall, yes. RIC_Airport and Inudaw can probably weigh in on that one. As we know, usually wise given our climo, to go conservative and bump up during the event if needed.
  19. Yes, please don't let that be a representation of us folks down here.
  20. I had to bite my tongue in that thread last night as I know it's always IMBY for them but if anybody, say, like Richmond chimes in wishing for snow, they get shot down. Haven't checked other locals, 12 going conservative, or a blend, 2-4", change to rain, leaves door open for backside. Looks like Wakefield calling it that way as well at the moment.
  21. Board is getting crushed. Rather have the temps not be an issue, so if we get 4-6 and just some light drizzle before a 1/2 inch on the backend, I would be satisfied.
  22. I would take the Ukie in a heartbeat, 7" and then it can just be light precip just no rain. We never seem to do as well on the backend, I always seem to recall the mets calling for more as the storm pulls away but it's never more than flurry or two I feel.
  23. Yeah, when we get dustings like this I have to come up with descriptive measurements over actual measurements. I am calling this Cole Slaw out here in Tuckahoe.
  24. Well, now I am depressed. Don't know what it is, turned 50 a few months back and just jonesing for a big snow here to feel young again and now it's looking like a few inches washed away creating a slurpee like landscape for a little bit.
