My bad weathertree, I meant to quote carvers post with the snowfall maps on it, instead i accidentally Quoted your message. That’s my bad, sorry for the confusion. E17 is one of the maps in carvers post that looks really juicy for the whole state. -

E17 coming in for the win!!! It’s hard not to get excited about our potential pattern over the next few weeks. Maybe just maybe we can pull out an I-40 special and get the whole state involved in a big time wintry event. -
Getting some mixed precip at the house at the moment, sleet mixed in with rain.

Man That would be an epic storm with some huge totals. I can only hope this happens at some point this winter. There does seem to be a signal for a storm on several models for this time frame. -

MJO continuing the move in a favorable direction as of this morning as well. Hopefully phase 7 and 8 can lead to wintry conditions for the Tennessee valley forum! -

Good stuff, that’s one thing I like about Americanwx and the forums we have inside it. There is always something to learn or ponder on in just about every forum you look at. Side note- It’s hard not to like the extended outlook from the Euro monthly outlooks for feb, March and April. All I’ll say is February looks like a high electric bill month if the Euro is correct. -
Same here buddy, it’s been a while since I could actually see the sunrise. This morning that was no problem, beautiful sunrise and looks like a beautiful day.

We’ve just gotta get to January 12th and see where things go from there. Where’s a time machine when you need it! -

Next time you just have to say “come outside I’ve got something cool to show you”, maybe that will get their attention. Lol. I know it’s tough as they get older though, happy new year to you too buddy. -

I like it. Pretty broad section of the country with normal heights at 500mb late in the run too. -

I agree, every model is just grasping at straws at this point In the long range. What’s upstream must come down eventually though, hopefully we can flush these festering issues and get back to some sort of familiarity in regards to what we think should be happening given the variables we’re seeing. -

What’s everyone’s take on the latest EPS? I read some mixed reviews in the Atlantic forum. Looks like the models are sticking to their guns at this point. -
Been pretty gusty all day on my side of the state too.

84-85 was the 4th snowiest winter of all time in Memphis, looks like TYS broke the record low in January 85 at -24.

What do we think is going to happen in regards to the MJO. The map I just looked seems like it’s doing circles in phase 5 up to the 23rd but it was heading towards phase 6 at the end of the run on the 23rd. Anybody know if it’s still heading towards phase 6 at the present time?
