I was just a couple of miles north of that scene and I’d say the winds were 45ish mph but just west of that area of N Knoxville, velocity was interesting .
Knoxville got hit pretty good. We had 16 major roads closed because of down trees and power lines. 10 schools still without power. 40k without power at one time. Took this pic close to my house on Broadway, this is the same tree. .
It’s crazy that Knoxville area has had 2 tornado warnings in less than a week at the end of June. The one Thursday afternoon was on top of me. The one today was 5 miles or so north. .
There seems to be more imbedded cell structures from I-40 north moving onto the plateau. MRX was talking about a boundary, like a warm front draped across the valley and I’m wondering if it will add more shear to the line? .
It’s doing exactly the same thing for me. Redirects me to something I’ve never seen before and then tell me I’ll get a prize for filling out a survey. .
Honestly I cannot remember ever reading a forecast or graphic that included “potentially life threatening” for heavy rain including landslides in ETn CWA and I’m 44. .
I’m right here at Maynardville Hwy and Emory Rd. Beaver creek is way out of its banks but luckily there’s a large spill over area that holds a lot of water. I may go take some pics if I can get to it. .
