Good news is, according to the Euro and GFS today, other than maybe 1 or 2 days, temps are gonna be chilly or cold through at least the 21st...

Would love for that GFS run to verify. Definitely need to see the Euro show something to get excited...

The totals have actually increased the closer we get to this. Could be a few surprises for some outside of the mountains. The Euro and RAP are very similar

Well that threat left in a hurry lol

18z GFS with a very tight gradient of snow in SW VA And Central VA. This run was noticeably warmer than 12z....

Definitely nice having Dr. No in your court. Last 3 systems the Euro has said “Nope” and turned out correct. Key takeaway for me is there is consensus now across most modeling (Ukie, GFS and ensembles, CMC, Euro, ICON lol) that there will be a storm around that timeframe and there is some cold air to work with. Way too far for specifics but this is about as good agreement at this range as you’re gonna get
Agreed!

Definitely a good run from the Euro up this way... will be interesting to watch future trends...

12z GFS shows a decent hit for Virginia this weekend. Not far off from being something bigger. Something to watch.
-
Surprised not many folks are talking about the potential storm the Euro/Eps is hinting at in the 8-10 day range. Yeah it's still far out there but something to possibly track...

I see overrunning in the future....

The Pattern starting after day 10 looks nothing short of "active."

Long range GFS is pretty wild at the end of the month into March 1st. Snowstorm/then ice storm and then Rain.
-
Still snowing some. Ending up with a nice dusting on the grass and the grill... mainly elevated surfaces.

Let's see what the 18z NAM Nest has to say. Will it agree with the HRRR....
-
@Buddy1987 you will really like the HRRR
-
18z HRRR coming in, again, aggressive. Coastal gets more involved.
-
GFS continues to put a few inches down around my area. Not sure if it's right but it's been consistent.
-
I think a general 1-2" will be common up this way with maybe 3-4" in some of the mountains.

The 12z HRW FV3 looks mighty impressive for northern NC southern VA fwiw

6z GFS continues the trend on late next week. Euro says to warm right now.
