Hard to ignore the signal on the GFS. Unfortunately the CMC and EURO have been warmer with rain. Need 1 of them to jump on board.

Remarkable consistency from the GFS at this range. Somehow I think we have about as good a chance as we've had all winter with this one. Which on the one hand is remarkable given the date, but on the other hand is to say, regardless of how much snow the 6z GFS and future runs may dump, it's really a long shot. Just keeping ducks on the pond is something!

Well you know the GFS and Euro will not be in agreement... the last storm the Euro was showing snow here and the gfs was showing the storm further west with rain here. Guess what? Gfs scored the coup. Will see what happens with this one

Icon and CMC both with 2 runs in a row of a Snowstorm next weekend in Northern NC/Southern VA. Gfs just rain and Euro was a central VA Snowstorm. Just something to watch.

Asheville at 8.5” with Kuchera method. Roanoke 7.4. Pretty much entire spine of western NC is 4-8” verbatim with Kuchera on GFS. [mention=14047]BornAgain13[/mention]2-4” type of event down your way. 

Should be some big hits for yall on the GEFS

12z NAM looks pretty fitting for this setup. Snow confined to the mountains, with ICE/Rain just east of their.

To me, obviously it's a very complicated setup... with the Euro and eps keeping this a mainly mountain event, that seems more likely to me but their could be some surprises east of the mountains. We will see.

0z GFS smokes SW VA and the NC mountains. Doesn't give my back yard much at all but I could see it actually playing out like that.

Overall, that was a solid run by the 0z NAM. Especially since the storm just got cranking at the end, if it would have went out another 12 hrs, someone was about to get whalloped.
