I have yet to get one. Haven't been able to, and I see people have trouble with them in general these days in the reviews. Tell me how it goes with your new purchase.

First one worked flawlessly for 10 years until the dewpoint sensor went wacky.

Attention now turns to late this week. SPC:

Will these days provide any quality chase setups in the form of discrete supercells producing visible :twister: in the 22-01Z timeframe? Given the way this year has gone, the smart money is on "fat chance" but I haven't really looked at any model data yet. Probably still too early for it to be of much help pinning down things like storm mode/timing, anyway.

Wisconsin is a tornado wasteland since about 2005.  I remember when Dodge and Fond du Lac counties would always light up with warnings.

  3. I know the P.1 variant (Brazil) has shown more of an ability to reinfect people who previously had covid.  That variant has not really taken off in a big way in the US so far though.  Personally I don't think "I already had covid" is a solid reason to never get the vaccine, but for people who had covid, maybe delaying it is warranted.
As far as overweight people, I think we have to separate this out.  If you're massively obese (I'm talking like 300-400 pounds), there's not much of an excuse for that.  I don't care if you're poor and only have access to crappy quality food.  You're not going to get to that level unless you're frequently in a huge calorie surplus.  A lot more people are moderately overweight, and for some of them, it's not so easy to drop the pounds for various reasons.

Sure can. It’s called insulin resistance. You can eat 1500 calories a day and weigh 300 lbs with that issue. Keto is the only way to fix it.

  4. Yeah, but do you hear about overweight people under 40 dying from the flu all the time?

The flu isn’t novel. So it doesn’t run through the entire population each year. More infected equals more bad outcomes unfortunately. Statistics.

Anyone know a GFS sample output site similar to wxweb.meteostar.com/sample ?  Looks like they shut down and I like the tabulated data it had.

Site goes offline May 19... anyone have another site that tabulates the GFS data like this?  I hate clicking through multiple graphics to see all the data.

Last week I had a female friend who was healthy and just 35 years old pass away from Covid after a short one week battle.  She wore a mask, did the right things, kept a balance between being locked down and living life.  It really hits home.  While I find so much non-science driving lockdown and restrictions, I just don't get not wanting a vaccine.

Sorry for your loss.  Curious though as to what her vitamin D levels were... along with was she doing any vitamin C, zinc, quercetin or melatonin supplementation?

  7. Been using this site for years (over a decade?) and I see its being decommissioned.  Any other comparable sites that tabulate all the GFS data out to 15 days?

    As now displayed on wxweb.meteostar.com/sample

Attention: On 19 April 2021, this web site ( wxweb ) will be decommissioned.
If you wish to continue using similar features for a fee, contact [email protected].
We have appreciated your use of wxweb and your feedback over the years.
As of 4 May 2021 data on this site may become old or unavailable.
  8. The average for Minneapolis looks to be 88 snow cover days per season (1"+).  The record is 137 days set twice, in 1964-65 and 2000-01. The record least amount is 26 days in 1930-31.

At Chicago the average snow cover days per season is 43. The record is 98 days set in 1978-79 and the record low is 9 days set in 1948-49.

At Detroit the average snow cover days per season is 50. The record is 96 days set in 2013-14 and the record low is 10 days set in 1936-37.

Note that these are days with 1" or more of snow cover. This does not include days where trace of snow cover is reported, which adds quite a few additional days for each location per season

    What’s MKE?
