  1. Wouldn't be Christmas in Columbus without a torchy rain on Christmas eve followed by cold and a flake or two on Christmas day...
  2. Have to admit, I didn't think we'd see the two inches or so that we got. That said, it mostly accumulated on the grass. Roads in the neighborhood were a crusty mess. It's too early for this. Looks like we go back to normal'ish November weather for the rest of the month.
  3. I'm just not seeing this event as one that warrants a WWA. Though it almost seems like Columbus is required to be in one for the first dusting of each year.
  4. So, uhhh, it's 57F in CMH right now...back to back days. I'm not holding my breath for the forecasted 1-3" of snow tonight, even with cold air crashing in.
  5. Looks like about 3” in Westerville with freezing rain/rain now.
  6. Even now the GFS has nothing for us. Just odd.
  7. Then you have the GFS with a half inch. If I was a betting man, I’d go with that.
  8. This is the part that sucks. We'll get a solid 3-5" of beautiful powdery snow, and then most of it will be gone by the end of the day Saturday and then the rest by Sunday. I hate very short term snow.
  9. I'm not saying you're wrong, but I haven't seen one model show what you're suggesting. I understand being frustrated, just don't let it cloud your judgement.
  10. Wow, definitely some saltiness here. As an employee of a local university, I wouldn’t be sad if our university was forced to close due to the extreme nature of the cold air and wind chills.
  11. The FV3 looks much more realistic with the Monday clipper in terms of track and strength and gives us a decent event.
  12. Looks like a clipper train developing after mid-week. We usually cash in on those.
  13. It’s extremely tough to tell, but in general it seemed to be about 4” here in the ridge (Huber Ridge) in Westerville.
  14. Did you guys in Westerville hear thunder just now?
  15. Snowing! Deck is already whitening. Still hear pinging, but def snow
  16. Absolutely pouring down sleet here in Westerville. Our dog is not impressed!
  17. The returns out in Indiana look good. I’m still hopeful.
  18. We were supposed to. There was the WAA part which is coming to an end, and then the backside/deformation band part. If that part doesn’t materialize for us, our disaster will be complete.
  19. But it also obliterates the deform band. We get maybe an inch. Time to throw in the towel?
  20. The HRRR and RAP are looking like disasters. By the time we go to snow, we get dry slotted. Here’s hoping they’re wrong.
  21. Thanks for checking in, Dustin! It’s nice to have a met weigh in our tough forecast!
  22. The new HRRR is looking a touch colder for the 3rd run in a row. The only thing that bothers me is that in my experience when the cold comes in, it comes in like a rocket. On this it appears to start coming in at around 6pm but takes several hours to come through. I’m not sure I buy that.
  23. Good job! You nailed that prediction from last night!
  24. Improvement on the new HRRR. I need help.
