  1. Weakened in the sense that the pattern of storms trending north and warmer is continuing until at least the weekend. What looked like might have an opportunity for us to get some frozen precip on Thursday has/is trended towards even upstate NY getting wet now.
  2. Seems like there might a bit of ZR late Wednesday night (best chances north of me) but then I think we need to wait until the weekend (Sunday?) for something potentially more significantly wintry.
  3. Sorry, I poorly worded my comment. That was what I was referring to when I said about temps exceeding expectations. We always do heat well!
  4. 65.4 and still rising. Temps always exceed expectations, it's the one constant in weather.
  5. Horst saying this morning to keep the faith! It hasn't been much of a winter so far, but don't throw in the towel snow lovers. We have a volatile pattern setting up for the coming weeks with a precipitation event likely about every second or third day. And while the month is beginning quite warm, some colder Canadian air will press into the region at times--not deep, long-lasting intrusions, but enough for some threats of wintry mix, ice, and perhaps even a significant snow in the coming weeks.
  6. I'd be shocked if we don't have a couple of wintry precip events in the next 10 to 14 days.
  7. No accumulation here but it was nice to see snow falling. #keepthefaith #dontevergiveup
  8. It's been raining pretty decent over this way the past 2 hours but I'm still shy of .25". I didn't see any snow last evening or today.
  9. Blizz, all I will say about next week's threat is I think it's better when we have cold air pressing in rather than retreating. I do believe this could potentially trend a little better still...
  10. We have EXACTLY the same seasonal total so far but got to it much differently as my biggest single event was 5.1" with a good bit more than that just to my southwest.
  11. I had just rain last evening. Right now I'm mostly cloudy and 37.
  12. So...Greenville SC had snow today while I rain? Come on February!
  13. Not a fan of the big L sitting over the Great Lakes, either.
  14. Well as Brian (daxx) can tell you I am NOT a huge severe weather guy. I do enjoy a good storm at the beach though...and last year we had the mother of severe storms in KDH. There were reports the following day that we had winds over 80 mph. All I know is my daughter came running in our rental home from the top deck and was screaming that the adirondack chairs up there had become projectiles. I recovered them on the street after the storm passed.
  15. BTW, it's snowing in parts of the Carolinas today outside of the mountains. If it can snow that far south in this pattern...just sayin'...
  16. One of the most inspiring speeches I've ever heard, the late Jim Valvano said "Don't give up...don't ever give up." Winter's not over...let's bring this home.
  17. New thread, new mojo. I started one with success a couple of winters ago, can we repeat history?
  18. Popping in from Lancaster county just to say that I think every word of this post is spot on. Even out this way I have what I call "hope but next to zero expectation." Way too many things argue against this working for us...but there's just enough intrigue with it being a potential coastal to keep tracking.
  19. Greetings from Lancaster county PA...I have family that lives in Lewes (Bay Breeze off King's Highway) and I always root for your area to get nice storms. I come down to visit at least twice of year and must say that I love that town. Here's hoping you guys do well with this!
  20. Hello!

I've lived wiithin the river all of my life. I have a lot of respect for how dangerous it can be, but at the same time, so scenic. Thanks for stopping by!
