    I might be glued to one such particular resort... Edit: today is the 2nd time in the past 2 weeks that they've shut down operations due to too much snow. Another 3-4' coming today, 2 more storms coming over the next week. They're going to be at about 350" or so by that point. I'm getting giddy.

    Very good point - and likely a lot of truth as well. Roundtop still has good coverage on some of their open trails - they benefit that almost the entire ski area faces north - not sure about Whitetail, but Liberty has some terrain more exposed to direct sun.

    Amazing to me that the 3 ski resorts in this general area are still operating considering that some of the big boys in much snowier areas of the northeast and mid-Atlantic have had to shut down.

    I remember every winter back to 1972-ish. To this point, this has been horrible. And yes, we could still end up with 90". Doesn't change or make people's perception wrong now.

    Wouldn't it just be peachy if we ended up with a (horned) frog strangler rain storm.

    It's a matter of really bad vs horribly bad. And what makes the perception even worse is that it looked to some like we'd be rocking in December.

    I mean...you're not totally wrong. But for a lot of your friends to your southeast, it's been nothing short of ugly to this point. And there's nothing super promising anytime soon. Optimism is good, for those who are at 0" and could still be there for another couple of weeks...optimism wanes a little quicker.

    That's what I've been saying - parts of Lanco has been a total shutout.

    I'll be surprised if they report more than a T - I saw no visible signs of snow along the river route this morning.

    Oh I understand completely - I just had to laugh given I had just posted about parts of Lanco being still shut out on the season, and the first map to follow was...well, more of the same. In an extreme fashion.

    Usually when the Sierra is getting blasted it's just the opposite on the east coast. And holy cow, is the Sierra getting the goods...

    I was wondering about how you made out-there was/is NOTHING visible my entire route this morning along the river south of Rt. 30...there are still areas in SW Lanco that are shutout for the season. Even up here on the hill at work...nada.

    1.5" for the season, but this is the first I've seen.

    Yes it does. Only difference is that any area that gets 1" might see it last until 10am instead of 8:30am.

    My forecast is for a mix of rain and snow with a low of 34. Not terribly excited at this point. Then again...if see a trace, that will be the first time this season I've seen snow on the ground.

    Spent the day at Valley Forge National Park. Had a fair amount of sleet during the afternoon.

    42.3 here currently - temp has slowly but steadily fallen since a midday high of 46.4. Streak ends at 9 consecutive days at 50 or above.

    Operational Euro and EPS got really ugly. Discouraging, but we'll see what happens from here.
