Some Memphis cams show fatties being ripped and wind blowing hard. Mpings range from snow to snow mixed with sleet.

As of 8:30am local time, Memphis interstates are completely covered. Fortunately not many accidents reported on the T-DOT map yet.

The farther west you go out towards Bellevue it gets thicker on the roads outside of Nashville.

Nashville seems to be putting up a pretty good fight with scraping the roads. Memphis at this hour, not so much. Just based on the interstate appearance.

I can't believe so many people are out driving in that mess around Nashville. It's piling up on the interstates, I can't imagine the secondary roads.

A video clip I saw from Paris looked like snow was mixing in with the sleet there now.

Friend in Paris says this is starting as sleet despite the p-type radar indicating snow.
Edit: RadarScope shows pink, so it's picking up on the sleet.

Last time the euro was this locked in for me was January 2016. It was showing the same 8-9 inches and I ended up with a foot. I’ll be stoked with anything 3 inches or over since it’s been almost 3 years since I’ve seen at least 2 inches from one storm.
I vividly remember the pictures of the epic pancake on your porch table. Helluva storm!

This is basically a mini Jan 1918 pattern it looks like. 1918 was colder and will probably be snowier too but it was very West vs East based. Nashville and Memphis were colder and more snowy by double to almost triple vs Knoxville. They had -10 degree type cold and spent around two weeks below freezing while Knoxville would be on the freezing rain side of the boundary then the cold would crash back in behind it.
You are a got dang walking talking weather encyclopedia man. I'm constantly impressed, that is amazing!

I really don’t know what they look at sometimes. If anyone of the mods went warmer it could be the NAM but they wrote the AFD like several mods have been trending all day.
.The SREF is warm, so that probably sealed the deal for them.

Looks like the valley gets the shaft this week. TBH I’m kinda looking forward to warm weather. I know it hasn’t been frigid this winter but we have only had a few really nice days. Seems like we have just as many 55 degree days as 35 but this year it’s been 40-45 and gloomy all winter.
.The GFS past few runs has been suggesting we may hit lower to mid 60s later next week. I mean that's camping temps, I'll be getting spring fever soon. I logged several nice dustings this season and am content to move on at this point.
