Four aftershocks ranging from 1.8 to 2.2, so far.

Haven't felt any of those. I'm only a few miles away from the epicenter. Was really cool to feel this morning.

I was at a big sports complex with my 4 year old. He was in the bounce house, so didn't feel it, lol.

    Shook the whole building.

As of about 5.50 am the snow band finally petered out and I measured 11.0" for a paltry 1" in the last hour - usually i would kill fire that lol.  Could still get another inch over the next few hours but the main event is over. Saw 12" retorted in Readington and plenty of 10+" amounts in CNJ and 9.9" in Metuchen at 5 am which is very close to my 10" at 4.45 am. Really feeling like a once in a lifetime event for a surprise localized major storm and especially getting 2"/hr rates for 5+ hours.  Very LES like.

    Branchburg at 12"!!

    Unbelievable!!

Would have been packed. 25 years ago schools rarely closed, the trusty 7 train took my mother around in all sorts of storms and blizzards, and the idea of banning travel would have been ludicrous.

Now we live in a world where everyone with a twitter account and an ounce of power feel the need to preemptively declare an emergency, tell us how this setup is more dangerous than anything before, and use both those reasons to take away the right to leave the house from hours before an event to hours or days after.

Cant wait to see my kids school delayed 2 hours for 3 inches of snow on Tuesday because Westchester never saw snow before

It's getting ridiculous. My kids have had 2 rain days off this year. Yes, a few roads in town were flooded, but there were alternative routes to the schools.

I bet they will have a delay on Tuesday too.

as for the rivers in New Jersey perhaps it’s time to start thinking like they did on Staten Island after Sandy.

Maybe it’s time to move people away from those rivers.

Obviously, we’re in a new climate regime now with this kind of thing is going to be happening frequently and it’s not right to keep people in harms way. Especially when harm seems to come every few weeks now.

There is one area in town that floods badly multiple times a year. Every time people have all their ruined stuff on the curb and it's sad, but nothing is going to change. They live in the lowest point right next to the river.

It's a very old section of town with some historic buildings, but people need to get out of there. Not sure what can be done with it. Abandoned houses and a park it will become.

This is 5 minutes from me.

3.35 ambient station, 3.42 cocorahs gauge.

Schools closed since the Raritan and its branches flooded over here leaving some neighborhoods cutoff.

Was trying to figure out which bridge that is. On Old York going towards Duke Island? Not Studdiford, right?

3.4" on my station...didn't lose power for once.

roughly the same timing here in Lambertville NJ

You guys are really that low?

Branchburg is at 3" and east of you...

Back to moderate snow again, very happy

    Kids sledding and loving it

again, you want to be N of 78 and along or west of 287 to have a good shot at plowable snowfall from this. set expectations to zero near the city

That's literally where I live, where they intersect...tough call

3.75" on my ambient station.  Will check the cocorahs when all said and done to get the real #.

3.97" on my station. Can't believe they canceled school today. I've heard the normal roads that flood are underwater, but a few you would think are fine.
