  1. as much as i'd like the rain they're calling for today, i really don't want a rain out tonight. can we compromise and have it rain after 10?
  2. poured on the other side of the susky..................for 3 minutes.
  3. I've been soaked and dried like 5 times since 5 am, i bet i smell wonderful this go out then in is killing me. i come inside and get chilled. I'd rather just stay out. I need a beer and a pool.
  4. I heard about it on the radio this morning. Said people were hiding in their basements. Like @canderson said, we didn't have that much rain, but i'm glad we did, it saved me a day of watering. We're gonna need that coming through the weekend ya know.
  5. i heard areas of lanco got smacked around hard last evening
  6. https://www.pennlive.com/news/2019/07/microburst-thunderstorm-brings-downed-trees-wires-to-cumberland-county.html I was in Mechanicsburg getting ready for the Little league game. This was brief, but intense. Trees and debris all over the place. I would love for voyager to be the jack pot and and miss us. We need to get this game in tonight. Outdoor activities Saturday may be non-existent unless you're in a pool and that might not be all that helpful!
  7. Only thing i'm certain of, the temperature of my bottle of Sam Adams Summer Ale, will be 33 degrees.

  9. whoa whoa whoa, easy there fella. Did you hit yo head? To Hot to drink? Starting Tuesday, looks like 90's straight into next week. The Pennsylvania Little League State tournament is being hosted by Camp Hill This year for those of you who didn't know it.
  10. For their minimum staffing, these guys go get it. I had no rain this morning when i left the house at 530, get on the other side of the susky and it looked like it poured all night. and haven't had any rain really since.
  11. Beat up, but all are ok. Yeah, people don't realize HFD has their own water rescue. Boat, well trained crews etc. They have actually been out of the city for swift water rescues. The guys are well trained.
  12. Just a little correction, it was Harrisburg Bureau of Fire that was out doing water rescue training, not river rescue. 2 separate entities. But agreed, 5 lives easily could have been lost due to people not obeying the warning signs.
  13. agreed. i was expecting like a 1 day "break" lol
  14. I'm thinking we could string about 4 or so days of 90s again next week.
  15. Glad there is more heat, just in time for District and state Little league. I love standing at games when its 90 plus and the breeze feels like someone is holding a hair dryer on you.
  16. Thats incredible really, wow. just when i thought we would get rocked, nothing. It literally was all around us almost every day. Saturday was a blast, i just stayed in the pool during the deluge, until the thunder started.
  17. the downpours in the Harrisburg area this morning were legit. Standing water everywhere, even I-81 and almost threw my Tahoe side ways.
  18. Saturday at the softball Tourney, when the wind blew, it felt like someone was holding a hair dryer on you. Yesterday, though there was a breeze if anyone was doing physical labor, the breeze didn't help. I'm not bothered by the heat, but the guys i was working with were taking a beating.
  19. Saturday i drove through that storm coming from a SB tourney in Kutztown on I78, interesting to say the least. Like Mike said about yesterday, early on i knew we would pass their prog. high temp. Though there was a breeze, i baked. I think Saturday was our 3rd 90 degree day and it looks like after today we string a couple 90s together into the weekend.
  20. oh man that would be awesome, sweating, beer drinking etc.................... I'd rather this then when we moved my cousin during a wind driven 10" snow storm My daughters freshman year at Millersvile, move in day was in the 90's. All the parents were bitching and having to take breaks every couple minutes. I had her moved in in a jiff to the 3rd floor because nobody was clogging the stairwell they were getting pissed off at me having said that, i'm glad she is commuting for her masters
  21. I agree with you. Those things drown out my snoring.
