CT Valley Snowman

3.8 here. Pretty much all of it fell last night.  Today has been either dry slot or non accumulating snow. There was a gradient across town based on latitude/ longitude. The further N/W you were the more snow you got. A couple of people reported 5 on the town forum, meanwhile my wife was down on the SE corner of town near Ellington on her way to Manchester this afternoon and said the ground was bare.  

3-4" of cement caked on everything.  Glad I grabbed that to at least look wintry. Ugly dry slot combined with daylight should keep additional accumulations down around here.   

39 and rain here.  Couple of inches of slush is what I'm expecting here in the valley.  Anything more and I'd be pleasantly surprised.  Getting completely shutout would be a disappointment but not a complete shocker.  Keeping expectations low in marginal situations is usually the best bet speaking from years of living here. Maybe the heavy banding works out perfectly and washes out the boundary layer warmth and we avoid any dry slotting.  That's the only hope for something bigger.  

Rap is awful south of the Pike.

I just listened to Bob Cox on WTIC and he went with with 1-6 from Springfield to New Haven in the valley.

 2.75 here.  Clearing the driveway was a pita with all the slush at the end.  

lame here.  Had some light non accumulating snow that changed to light rain and 33.  

Nearby PWS dropped to -4.  

-2 at nearby PWS.  Temps slowly dropping here.  Further NE in MA temps really tanked that's impressive near BOS.

Seriously? I'm a few miles east of the CT river in the valley and this is MBY. 

Managed a light coating now raining and 33.  

36 here with a light mix of snow and rain. 

Wasn't up in the night to measure but settled depth this morning was 4.8, nice little event.

About 1" here on grassy surfaces. Less on paved surfaces.  Steady light to mod snow.  

Covered up here on grassy surfaces. Had some moderate bursts the past hour. Currently light snow with good snow growth and 30.2.

I wasn’t out here then but I’ve always found that storm pretty hilarious.  4” in Greenfield but 40” if you went 30mi E or W.  Perhaps the greatest downsloping of all time for the CRV. 

I remember looking up in the sky and seeing the snow falling heavier higher up but not making it to the ground.  Definitely the most frustrating storm I've ever experienced.

Driveway and  sidewalk are covered here now and the road is starting to accumulate.  To bad it's almost over.

Kids are out throwing snowballs. Nice little surprise.  I was thinking mainly the high terrain for accumulations.  32.5 here with snow still falling. 

Ground is completely covered and the driveway is starting to accumulate
