  1. Ya I agree. Chances are very low as we all know. But it’s a boring time of year for weather enthusiasts. I’ve never been a big fan of September. Summer trying to hang on, and autumn can’t quite get a grip on us yet...like you said, SOOO Boring!!
  2. I think some of you are in a fantasy land when it comes to this stuff. I get the whole Drama/Dramatic idea, but in October 2011, Most of CT/lots of Interior SNE was without power for a Week to two weeks. It sucked. It wasn't fun, but it was not a Catastrophe, or a disaster of Epic proportions like we see in the Bahamas. There's not going to be a 38 redux with regard to Surprise like some seem to think. Heck, it'd be tough to get a storm of that magnitude up this way ever period...let alone on a surprise. Those days are long gone.
  3. Don't you worry Wiz, there will be plenty of lead time for whatever materializes. Truly Big hits are so rare here, it's really not an issue around here. And with Social Media, and the internet now, the word gets out just fine. If this looks to be an issue, the news/internet/twitter/ etc etc will be buzzing.
  4. I think anybody who is even remotely interested in Meteorology, and hasn't been living under a Rock for the last 30 years, would put this at a "Low Probability of it getting up the east coast to threaten the Northeast; even without considering all that you just mentioned. But your analysis just makes it that much more clear how little chance this has of getting up here.
  5. Yup, that's why its such a low chance of a strike up here. Oh well, it was fun imagining the potential while it lasted lol.
  6. Well we know they aren't the same...but the point remains not to trust any one depiction too much at this stage. Certainly an interesting development overnight...but buying in to something like this at this stage, is not prudent yet.
  7. Lol...nice point!! Euro hasn't been all too good lately with regard to TC development.
  8. Hopefully we'll be able to help you out, and take some of that rain off your hands next week up here Modfan.
  9. Definitely Fantasy Land....but being it's Fantasy Land, anything can happen and change. Just making some conversation about the latest run. We all know its always a very low chance something Tropical visits us up here..but there's not much else to talk about currently.
  10. Euro run at 12z is looking rather Ominous for the east coast 9-10 days from now. Saw it over on the Tropical headquarters forum...take a gander if you want to see something in a precarious spot, with a big trough digging in.
  11. I hear ya...it wouldn't take much to out-do what Dorian delivered here that's for sure.
  12. That Dorian set up was a Total nothing Burger for everybody except the Cape/Islands in SNE. If I got .01" I was fortunate.
  13. Ya, as the post above mine stated....some decades are quite active and some are dead. Irene hit 8 years ago, and before that it was pretty dead for 20 years since Bob. So I'd say once a decade is pretty rare in my opinion. But it does happen...just not that frequently.
  14. UNF? Where did it track before this frame....Up the East Coast?
  15. So nothing like Juan was I take it. I wasn't thinking this was going to match Juan's intensity for N.S. Those Euro runs showing a 934 mb storm out your way were way off weren't they??? Glad you made it through without any real damage...I know you were conflicted about that, and then being excited about a good storm coming through your area.
  16. Holy cow James, you go from one extreme to the other....no middle ground I guess. I think I liked the "total destruction with every storm" James better.
  17. This. Perfectly Put. Bring the Canes for heaven sakes....Can we get just one good one to satisfy all of our lust for some excitement. Humberto(or whatever the next one in the pipelines name is) your invited to SNE.
  18. Ya, it's been a total Snooze fest here as far as Hurricanes are concerned....sucks!!
  19. You know what I mean Berg....we've exhausted this conversation now. But whatever....
  20. Ok,good discussion, but can we talk about if there's anything interesting in the pipeline....tropically speaking for the Northeast U.S.
  21. No, I get completely what you're saying. And I can also see the property owner side of it too. I look at it...wishing for it doesn't make it happen, anymore than NOT wishing for it doesn't make it happen. Sometimes the law of averages catches up with a location, and it'll come no matter what. In that case I hear and agree with what you mean. But the Conundrum statement is real....we love the extreme weather, but don't want our homes and property to be destroyed either. But we have to keep in mind the weather doesn't take any of what we want, or don't want into consideration lol...so that makes me feel ok when I kind of Pine for some exciting weather at times.
  22. Got it. Makes sense now. You should be fine if the guidance holds.
  23. Ok gotcha. Ya going up the west side would put that area in the right front quadrant where the winds are the strongest right. I was just commenting on Hazey getting concerned earlier...but now see why this should be much easier on his area than Juan.
