Yup, you and far northern Maine was absolutely buried, and it took them down to grass as well, just like your place. That was absolutely incredible how it just ate it all up. Even a few hundred miles north of you.

Well that’s my only point. The thing has improved…and I’m not thinking anything happens either. But stranger things have happened too. As Brooklyn99 says…it doesn’t hurt to give a quick glance every 6 hrs if one is interested. And if not interested ya don’t.

Perhaps that ridge axis is not quite correct either…it is 4-5 days out. That’s always a possibility. If any one of these things are off, things will play out different. Everybody knows this, but sometimes it seems we accept a 5 day prog as having everything(ridge and trough ideas) correct.

Absolutely! I do believe what I described to the doubters like Qg and 1717 and Pope was pretty much this. Just didn’t think I needed to spell it out to such experienced posters, as you just did. But I guess it’s always good to break things into small bites for the masses.

But the pattern was/is good…we just couldn’t cash in. That’s the point. I don’t know what’s so hard to understand about that. The dissenting opinions from people were in opposition to folks saying the pattern did not change, and wasn’t heading towards something conducive for winter weather. And nothing was further from the truth. So that’s where folks like you and the pope and Qg got push back. Bottom line fact: pattern changed and became colder and was/is good for winter enthusiasts….we just got/getting shut out due to nuances that can never be seen at length. But the pattern changed, and there is no denying that.

Ya I noticed that. I don’t remember that being forecast like that? Surprise number 1 from this system. And I wasn’t expecting bright sunny skies this morning here…was forecast to be overcast.

No, nobody is saying cancel winter this year…especially since it started officially just 24 hrs ago. We have a whole winter to get through. Just the bad timing/fortune this month has been discouraging. And yes, we’ve seen this many times before. So this is not new…but it still stings. Hopefully we get a lil better fortune/can catch a break or two as we move forward. That’s the message or takeaway.

Even the lil ones are good…we take. Im ok with 2-4”/2-5”. Of course the bombers are real fun, but we can’t get a flurry lately. So I’ll start small.
