Man you can really hear the wind roaring up about 500-1000 ft. Sounds like a plane is parked over us - reminds me of being in Manhattan during Sandy.

12z GFS offered another way to fail lol....fails to phase threat 1. TPV stays west intially to suppress the next wave. Then it does slide east into the perfect spot...but a NS SW dives down from the north pole and dives southwest!!!! and phases with a system in California and cuts off on the west coast pumping a huge ridge in the east before anything else can come along. I have NEVER seen that before ever...a system that starts out over the north pole...with a trough in the east and an EPO ridge...dives southwest and cuts off along the west coast. WTF
maybe Santa is headed to an awards show in LA or something

Everyone knows tall buildings block wind and rain
we don't have school buses (kids take public transportation, walk, or are driven) - I wonder if that is part of it.

Pure greed pretty accurately describes all pro leagues. It’s gonna collapse at some point.
honestly college too with all the realignments. Your classic Atlantic Coast Conference rivalry of Stanford and Cal, and of course the Big-10 with 18 teams.

Been saying this for years. And doesn’t help when local media Mets use similar descriptors/adjectives to talk about normal (or even above normal!) temperatures.
it is kind of humorous that lows in the mid-upper 30s are referred to as "cold!! bundle up in the morning!!" by local mets on TV (maybe Doug and Topper excepted) - in mid winter.

I’m concerned. Part of the reason I like VA/DC is the threat of cool but not mega dangerous weather all four seasons. Would suck to lose winter
Time to lower your snowfall forecast?on the plus side we live within an easy drive of places where 100" of snow in a season is considered a down year.

i mean it generally is supposed to be easier for it to snow in CHICAGO than in the southern Mid Atlantic.

i mean these are Canadian geese, did anyone think they might actually like snow? so if you seem them leaving your area, bad sign.

1.24" of rain here, briefly had a sleet/snow mix this morning. I think we can officially declare our drought to be over lol.

Think we are done here at Deep Creek. The skies are brightening. Dud of an event. We will probably get more snow tomorrow than we did today
it must be so nice to have the upslope in your back pocket.

Hell no
hell yes - it's simply more pleasant out if it's in the 50s and 60s vs 20s/30s with bare ground. if you don't like the bugs - i mean, look where we live.

Stuck at 33.5 to 34 here. Without CAA, we don't cool off much past 9pm.

I know what you're referencing in the temp being around 34 to 35 at DCA, but if this was a temp/dp...I would still believe you because if anyone can defy the laws of thermodynamics, it's DCA
lol so true.

Temps steady in Tenleytown (~380ft) at around 34F for the past few hours. 34/35 at DCA.
