You took a cruise to the... Bahamas... in August? You are aware January is a thing right?
What is your summer vacation plan next year? A trip into the seventh circle of Hell?

Lol I know right…but I’m a teacher so I’m limited to taking long trips in the summer! Plus my friend group planned it for a bachelor party. I was prepared and packed a ton of extra clothes!

I just got home from my first cruise to the Bahamas. Was in Miami for a day before leaving on the boat…there and on each island we stopped at, it was like low 90s and of course tropical humidity. 105-110 heat index each day. So today here at home, this is not too bad!

The thunder and lightning is nonstop here…pretty cool actually! Wish this happened at night for strobe light effect!
-
Yeah this is an interesting line…rain is very light but the lightning and thunder is surprisingly very frequent. Winds are gusty but nothing concerning.
-
Another line forming out in Ohio…was that modeled? Round 2 later?
-
How does the Hanover cell not have a tornado warning on it?! Someone is dropping the ball…
-
Towson is the place to be…by the looks of it, they are going to get raked…
-
South of the Border has been on a severe weather streak recently…
-
I was about to say the same thing…above the MD line, we probably will be ok. As soon as you get south of the border, the line looks very intense…

Check out the national view! Severe warnings pretty much in a line from NJ and extends southwest all the way down through SC…and we missed out! Lol
-
That’s the most pathetic looking line I’ve ever seen for a cold front with 90 degree + temps out in front of it. Wow…well at least it’ll cool us down!
-
Yeah this isn’t our day lol…
-
Pretty tame on radar compared to yesterday at this time. I’ve been watching that line up by State College and it just isn’t strengthening at all as it drops southeast…
-
After a couple hours of clouds from the decayed Midwest MCS, it is now full sun. Let’s see what develops later this afternoon…
-
All in all, this was a very active day for only a 30% chance on the point and click forecast! We always overperform on days with low POPs in the forecast and it always busts with over-hyped severe days lol…

Look at the radar out in Central PA…could a second round be developing for tonight?

The shelf cloud here was epic - I thought I was going to get smoked. The rain portion was welcome but not overly impressive.
Agreed. Bark was definitely worse than the bite. I didn’t see any flashes of lightning until after the storm started. I can’t remember the last time here I witnessed a storm where there were C-to-G strikes before it actually hit. Has been a long time…

That line in MD keeps growing more north…strange to watch on radar! If that keeps up, it might get southern York and Lancaster county…
-
Great storm…probably the best of the summer here! Nice shelf cloud blew through with gusty winds first. Then heavy rain, some lightning/thunder (although I was surprised there wasn’t more)…it’s about over here and have .60 in the rain gauge! Much needed!

It’s aimed right at me…

Hell of a cell in Adam’s county right now…
-
Severe thunderstorm watch just issued to our south…interesting not for us with those multiple storms now moving into western LSV areas. Probably focused on that line in western MD as it moves east. Unfortunately that looks to stay south of the border lol…
-
NWS in their forecast discussion talk about the potential for a complex to drop out of the Great Lakes and impact the area later tonight. Anyone have any more information about that possibility?

Welp in the perfect spot yet again for two beautiful cells that went right overhead. Been lucky over here lately. Looks like it’s gonna be close to another .6”, and I’ve also hit my low for the day at 75. Poor MU haha, but man, that sh$t happens to everyone in the weather game.
That cell literally hit the campus square on too lol…

So like is it supposed to rain tonight lol? There are flood watches north of the valley but radar looks like shit. The only batch of rain is weakening…
