  1. Today we were at Arlington National Cemetery burying my wife’s grandmother. I won’t dox myself but our grandparents and great grandparent are about 30 yards from Abner in Section 1 so it’s always nice saying hi to him.
  2. A buddy down there improvised and tied a telephone pole to his backhoe and used it as a rake to move hail.
  3. 58 was my low. Off to Arlington for a funeral. Hope it’s not too muggy in the fishbowl.
  4. 77 was my high. It actually ended up warmer than I expected.
  5. For the TL, DR crowd, +1-3 degrees in June and July and a “sweltering” +4 August.
  6. Why can’t every summer day be like today?
  7. 20 mins from noon and it’s 69 and oh so fine.
  8. Wait the Bears needed OT? They were up 4-2 when I turned it off, with like 80 seconds to go. How the F did they allow 2 goals in the last 80 seconds???
  9. The Lancaster Country Club brought the best women’s golfer in the world to her knees. She shot a 10!!! on 12 (her 3rd hole of the day) Great weather for the US Open. Pretty windy, though.
  10. Also for anyone around Hershey, Troegs today is doing a fundraiser with the Humane Society of Harrisburg and all proceeds go toward the shelter. They will have dogs for adoption there, too. Dinner and drinks for a good cause on a beautiful day!
  11. Everyone I know in Texas is absolutely exhausted this week with all the storms they've had the past two weeks. They're so over it, and so much damage is everywhere and trees down it's really unsettling for them.
  12. Added another .01 tonight! So … .015 for the day!
  13. Thankfully all that spring moisture will save us from a drought. But it might get very dry.
  14. It’a already dry and no rain today and none in the next week I expect stuff to start browning quickly.
  15. Not a drip from that line that spit over head. I think I’ll end the day with a whopping essential trace. Dirt isn’t even remotely damp.
  16. Actually it dropped south and getting a light shower
  17. It happened to Cape Town a few years ago but with mitigation efforts and a few heavy rain events they reversed the issue. Mexico City might get rain next week, hope it’s a full eeek soaking event. It’s a great city. We’ll see this more and more imo. Las Vegas, Phoenix, LA, Austin will have issues sooner than later I think.
  18. Agreed. It is one of the biggest disasters the world faces.
  19. Speaking of lack of rain, Mexico City will run out of water June 26 due to drought unless they get extensive rain (and it looks extremely unlikely it happens) It’s the most populated city on this continent. https://www.washingtonpost.com/climate-environment/2024/05/25/mexico-city-water-day-zero/
