  1. One good thing - we're already talking August. Even if we get some crazy heatwave, we have fall coming in a month and half or so.
  2. It's so smokey out I think I'm back in Texas during HS football season and at a bonfire.
  3. Groundcover can choke weeds naturally without any chemicals, whereas lawns really can't. I despite chemicals, but again, this is my opinion and I know others will differ strongly! A nice lawn looks fine, sure, but I actually think a nice meadowed front looks better and is better for the ecosystem (birds, bees, etc will love it).
  4. I'm probably alone in this belief, but let the grass burn and plant groudcover instead (vinca, clover, etc - clover is EXCELLENT native groundcover here). The time, money and energy spent on grass lawns is IMO insanity.
  5. Def a faint smoke smell - but the sun glow is a muted orange, it's really creepy
  6. Yea this was a real swing and a miss by CTP. Rare.
  7. Had .9” rain earlier but that last cell missed me - less than .1 from it.
  8. It's so smokey you couldn't really tell the difference in the rain clouds and not. Weird times.
  9. This should be warned. Strong strong winds and heavy torrential rain.
  10. This is far heavier than anything I saw Friday or Saturday. Go figure.
  11. Uhhh I haven't paid any attention to weather today but it's thundering so I look at radar. WTF?
  12. Big relief this morning. And the high will be in the mid 70s. Glorious.
  13. It never verified for me either - light rain at most. .15” total. But I’ll gladly take that! I did expect more severe but earlier instability might have cut down the main threat.
  14. Looks like you’re in nice light steady rain for a bit now. That’s perfect for plants.
  15. It’s been dry here for 15 minutes despite radar showing some returns overhead. Nice relieve for the city today. Nominal rain, zero wind.
  16. Also I met @Jns2183 - he’s a better mixologist than data dump nerd (said with the greatest kindness)
  17. It is insane - driveways completely washed away. I miiiiiiight end up with .2” rain today (it’ll need to have this light rain for several more hours) while places a few miles away are seeing 4”+.
  18. It’s nice to not be in the crosshairs. Congrats to those to the south who are getting the goods finally!
  19. We’ve yet to have what I’d call moderate rain in the city. Everything has weakened over it today - it’s raining but nothing substantial like the surrounding environs. Very odd since it’s been the exact opposite the last week.
  20. It really does. That area is going to have impressive rain totals.
