Looks like there's still a few holdout members to the east on that 18z EPS but a lot fewer of them with a heavy cluster on the mean and to the west. -

The whole trough is further east @H5 then 06z, Whose disputing that? Of course at the surface it will be east as well, But that blob off the coast is playing a roll in it too if the s/w is weaker then modeled, If not, It won't matter.

Today's runs look like they want to chase that convection to the east, Euro was even moreso.

That's where he makes out is when its well north of here and you get the return flow more SSE.

Trajectory is always the key up here, A BM north close to eastport in the GOM works, A BM NE to east of the tip of NS does not, That's why i prefer a low tracking over 41/70 if it goes NE from there, In the GOM, Same, Its still a decent hit, You prefer it tracking over PWM though, That would melt most of the whole board here in NE.....lol

You can see the isobar getting a tug east at the surface, You want this s/w as strong as possible as it rounds the base to not follow that offshore some, At 06z it was down to 1000mb at that same date stamp.
