I agree, they aren't helpful. All I ask is that you all (general you all) correct others in a nicer way when they do it. if you (general you) wanna sling mud, i can point you to the place to do it. (its not here)

and i appreciate you setting him straight. you could have done without this: stop posting this nonsense unless you have facts to back it up. We aren't going to be doing that here. Its fine you wanna correct someone, but I am telling you to find a better way to do it.

I think we can reply to people without scolding them about nonsense. thats how shit gets started. thanks for posting those polls, though, trixie.

i always get a kick when people copy directly out of articles and it shows when your font changes.

I guess it depends on what it is you want to see when you map by them zip code. If you just want to see counts, then the map on the left is fine. The map on the right is similar to population density. By doing the dasymetic map, you are taking that zip code data and adding additional spatial information, like buildings/residents in each as the creator said. I like them both for the purpose they serve. But if you just want to see counts by zip code then the map on the left is fine. I'm not sure how you figure out that buildings that can house 100 units would have the majority of cases, unless you know the personal information of all those cases... and i dont think that data is legally available due to HIPAA. So not sure how true the second map actually is.

Not sure, but they have been consistently inconsistent with each other for weeks. I try and stick with JH data if/when I do count difference.

mmmm thats definitely tricky. being forced to leave your house if you dont feel its safe to do so, yet your employer is demanding you show up, thus putting you at risk.
  16. thank goodness for severe chances, adds a bit of excitement to these ever boring days

I get it. Or, at least, I have empathy for it. We are not a family struggling as we both can work from home. But I hear you, and others, and fully 100% understand the argument. I feel that there is no good answer. We can’t flip a switch, nor can we stay closed for months longer. There has to be a middle ground, ease back into it..but there has to be some criteria to when that can happen. it’s going to become a cluster when you have states like GA opening and people drive in out of state to have a sense of normalcy. Virus will jump back and forth across state lines as people travel to and fro. Then you’ll have calls to ban visitors from states who are opened too soon, or still closed, or whatever. It’s all just a mess. I’m rambling now. Sorry. My point: there has to be a general standard in place that all cities, towns, states, however detailed you wanna get...must follow in order to open without causing more havoc on an already shakily balanced hospital system. This would mean more rural places could open sooner than the urban areas. Especially larger states where people are so spread out. Half the damn counties in Montana dont even have it (though they are not closed, bad example). I just worry opening too soon, when states and/cities are still heading up the drive, is going to cause only more problems then current. you get my point..I hope. Too long of a lost, sorry snowfan
