Some of my neighbors watering their lawns for like 6 hours a day is starting to make me a little queasy. I don’t want to turn on the tap one afternoon only to find a trickle.

I was watching a board of health meeting last night. Six applications for emergency well digging. It's dry.

Yup. Awful in OKC. But I spent enough summers there to tell you that it isn't unheard of. Now if it goes above 110, you're really cooking. Not sure what the all time max is but I think its around 115-117 in OKC, maybe 120 for the state. We complain in NE with a two week stretch near 90 (plus or minus a degree or two) but imagine a ten day stretch above 100 (or maybe 14 days in a month that is closing in on 20 day at 100+). Happened a few years back. The normal high is officially 93 in OKC, so you're pretty much looking at a spell like this that drags on for nearly three months with a few breaks down into the mid to high 80's if you're lucky. And in central OK you also have the humidity to contend with. Further west its drier, but hotter and the wind is just dessicating. Oklahoma is not the UK. They're used to it. Doesn't make it any more pleasant.

"The UK wasn't the only place with extreme/record breaking heat today. Every single Oklahoma Mesonet weather station surpassed 102F today, with Oklahoma City peaking at 110F. This is not "normal summer" weather - it's one of Oklahoma's hottest days on record.

I fear Dendrite and I pushed him too far the other day asking him to live on planet earth briefly when having a discussion about science.

It certainly wasn’t the intent to drive him off.

Of course it happens literally the day before he gets the weather he’s been looking for since April.

I'm sure he'll return quicker than a bum check.

Plenty of dew points headin' my way

I’m actually not sure if they are hawks or Falcons, definitely not red tail hawks though.  Mom and youngster, daddy-o was up in a tree watching my every move.

Pretty sure those are immature red tails.

Anyone ever play Shaker Hills in Harvard, MA? Playing there tomorrow afternoon for first time.

It used to be nice. Recent reviews aren't that great. Sometimes that's just a few disgruntled customers.
