Not gonna lie I’m welcoming this weather for the backlog of yard work I have. This out of shape middle aged man doesn’t mind the 50’s on a June weekend where I need to be outside for an extended period of time. Have been right on the edge of these spotty showers and patches of drizzle since yesterday. Wouldn’t be fun weather for any sort of outing though, took a drive through Colt State Park and it felt like March!

Great day for outdoor work. I'll take a few more.

  2. " Ample moisture and SBCape values ranging from 1500 to 2000

J/kg will support thunderstorm growth during the afternoon. With weak wind fields however, there will not be nearly enough shear to support deep moist convection. In fact, model forecast soundings

suggest 0-6 km shear lower than 10 knots which is quite putrid in terms of a severe thunderstorm environment."

Still a lot of discrepancy with QPF this weekend. EPS soaks. Some models are more ern areas. I think Saturday could have dry periods, especially western areas, but it’s cloudy and chilly if it’s not raining. Shit period coming up.

Friday thunder chances look good up north and then probably along back door somewhere in central MA to near CT/RI border.

None of my crabgrass came back this year and I don't treat. Weird

All sorts of weird stuff going on. Bittersweet dying on the vine at this time of year? Also porcelain berry which has been covering every living thing for the past few years is struggling. I should be happy with invasives dying off but what comes with it?

  5. "Humidity can cause all sorts of problems, some serious (making high temperatures dangerous for human health) and some mildly annoying (frizzy hair). What if it also could help in our response to the climate crisis?

In a study out this week, scientists at the University of Massachusetts Amherst say they have created a device that can harvest electricity from humidity in the air."

By the looks of the long range we won't be getting any free electricity around here. COC as far as the eye can see.

Don't notice them so much in the village and town, maybe it's all the open farm land in the valley around here... but man the minute one gets into the woods a bit or up into the mid-slope elevations... today was brutal.  And came out of nowhere, almost nothing yesterday.  Hatching day or something.

I'm dreading it. Nothing so far but I know it's coming.
