  1. What a day to come back for a break. Talk about tropical rains and pure soup! Maybe I can get back down to the beach tomorrow but this is turning out to be just a classic summer with everything amped up to the nth degree!
  2. Yep, no doubt at all. I can feel it right now even all the way down here on the cape, practically a half mile from the ocean. That should tell you how thick this airmass is. Summer still has still had some serious gas in the tank and we’re just here for the ride baby, pina coladas in one hand and the other wiping sweat away from our big tooshies!
  3. Very choppy at the ocean today! At least the sun finally came back out after a wild night. If it wasn’t so warm you’d almost have me thinking it was early April with a storm like this. I’m totally ready for the hhh to make a comeback after an interesting little interlude!
  4. Absolutely pouring now here in Chatham..I wish I had my camera with me earlier around high tide as the water level was far higher than it normally is, almost spilling over the boardwalk at one point. It’ll be interesting to see if we get any splash over tomorrow afternoon.
  5. Man, that’s some biblical stuff right there. Meanwhile, our plans for tomorrow might have to wait with this sneaky little coastal storm moving up in our direction. Couldn’t have asked for better timing to get some big rains lol.
  6. Another beauty on the beach. I think I’ve earned a few good drinks and perhaps some greasy onion rings after a few good swims in the water.
  7. A real manly coc is 90/75. Only the most experienced of coc lovers can appreciate such high levels of dewiness. Everything else falls just a little short.
  8. Beautiful evening down in Chatham..I kept waiting for that line of showers to give us a quick soaking but it fizzled out right before coming overhead. I guess I can’t complain about the dreaded stein effect back at home with the water issues down here!
  9. Yeah I was just out watering the pots yesterday (mon) and the difference between that and Sunday was like night and day. It was nothing like the previous week where it felt like a giant sauna door had been left open with hardly a whisper of wind but that slight heaviness to the air was undeniable. It actually felt perfect to me given the time of year, aside from those damn flies which always seem to emerge from every nook and cranny in existence to harass anyone walking on the street!
  10. The mugginess is def back but it just feels right for this time of year. I don’t know how else to put it. For me, it reminds us to slow down, take it easy, grab a nice cold beer and enjoy the beauty around us! Which reminds me, I gotta fill up my feeders..we have a clan of purple finches that have just been gobbling down our seed for at least the last few weeks.
  11. I mean it really doesn’t much of a drop off to feel just a little more breathable than yesterday’s sauna and I don’t use that term lightly. Trust me, I love that classic summer feel of high heat with a distinctive moistness in the air, especially if you’re taking it easy or you happen to be at the beach. But man, last night was just something else around here, with hardly a whisper of wind combined with our proximity to literal swamps, it really could’ve fooled some people into thinking we were suddenly transported to lake okechobee! It doesn’t get quite that steamy and stagnant very often.
  12. We had a few good rumbles here mixed in with a few downpours but sadly the good stuff stayed just a little too south. We’ll take some rain for the garden and trees..the poor hydrangeas have been sucking up water like it’s going out of style lol
  13. Still nothing here..just a total steam bath with skeeters flying around and frogs hopping all over the place. Tomorrow is probably gonna feel like a totally different season compared to the swamps of South Carolina which have graced us with their presence lately. 79/75
  14. Please save some action for us swampy toosh infused coastal folks. We could really use it!
  15. It’s a f’ing scorcher out there. We take and bake! 94/70
  16. I did just that earlier hoping to catch a few good shots. One of these days my obsession/innate curiosity of nature will probably be the death of me but to me, it’s all worth it in the end lol. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t terrified of the thunder/lightning as a kid and now I practically play with house money during every storm just to get that perfect shot.
  17. Yeah the thunder is pretty much constant. Maybe something will redevelop just to our west to keep things busy this evening. This air mass is so heavy I’d be shocked if we didn’t get some more action a little later.
  18. Haha what are the friggin odds..I was just out watering some flowers and heard like three quick rumbles that didn’t sound far off. Of course, the day I decide to get out and take care of the plantings is when it looks like a good soaking is about to occur! I think she coming..
  19. Yeah it’s unbelievable. I literally just went to take the dog for a walk thinking the rain had stopped but it started pouring again after just a few minutes. And man, it is soupy out there too with flies galore! We might as well be in the Florida Everglades right now lol. Def tops the rank of dewey days this season by a long shot!
  20. Just had a few good downpours roll through here, probably bringing us a quick half inch. It’s gonna feel like an actual swamp out there this evening once this starts evaporating!
  21. Beautiful, classic summer day out there..warm, with a nice breeze, flies are staying where they belong. Ya gotta love it! Can’t believe some of those pics from the ville though. Actually went to school there for a time and legit recognize some of those streets, just heartbreaking to see. A lot of good people in that part of New England, really sucks to see.
  22. It’s finch city out there this evening..can’t believe how many goldfinches and purple finches have been visiting since early in the spring. It’s gotta be one of those odd years where they all seem to arrive at the same time or perhaps just more have taken up residence around here. Either way, very cool to see!
  23. Sadly our old yipper doesn’t share my love of the glorious, breezy sauna that has overtaken us in recent days. Shes totally ready for her fifth nap of the day followed by some senior approved slop only she could appreciate.
  24. The wind has completely gone dead silent around here, which almost never happens this close to the ocean. My weather senses are telling me the dews are only going to keep building or there are some pretty intense storms about to pass through. Either way, it’s just plain steamy out there!
  25. 73/72 The summer of sweaty co cs is just getting revved up!
