It just got noticeably more humid here in the last hour or so. Was there some kind of invisible boundary that just passed through? Crazy how quickly things can change with a sudden wind shift. Those damn flies are popping up everywhere too!

Could care less about fireworks right now. We had enough of the natural stuff coming right from Thor himself yesterday to keep me satisfied for a few days. Now if only those damn kids would get off my lawn and quit ruining my piles of dried up doggy doo with their sparklers!

As much as I love the chill vibe that high dews and heat brings this time of year, I don’t mind a day like this. It’s very pleasant without a doubt, great for grilling and taking long walks on the beach. I think the heavy downpours yesterday really wrung out much of the moisture in the atmosphere. When it returns though and it will, our collective tooshies (and manbuns) shall be ready!

Went down to humarock in scituate earlier for a friends party and my god that lightning was incredible. We had a few close strikes right by the beach and people were still lighting off fireworks lol. Ya gotta respect the dedication, despite the insanity!

It’s 84 here with the usual levels of dewiness to tickle the ol pickle. I’ve no idea what the moose humpers to the north are smoking but it’s business as usual on the coast!

I’m between that 66 and 72 data point..it’s a little sticky here today, even if the warmth is nothing unusual. It all balances out this time of year in this swampy, coastal corner of the world! Mosquitoes are having a free for all right now too.

It's over...
Maybe it’ll give us a nice moisture laden storm to add to that beautiful tropical feel by the second half of the season. Headlines will read dews higher and stickier, the likes of which we’ve never seen before..Stay inside for the tropics of Belize are heading to a neighborhood near you!

Finally starting to rain here. Man, what a classic and beautiful summer day all around. I’d take this any day and run with it. A few good downpours and rumbles of thunder would just be the icing on the cake..let’s gooo!

Classic summer day here..mid 80s, some dews, plenty of sun..what more can you ask for this time of year?

Some of our neighbors treat for mosquitoes. Hubbardston is a giant swampy forest. So unless you drop a ton of DDT, the mosquitoes would laugh.
Foggers work a bit for a few hours. We didn’t plan on doing the fire tonight so I didn’t have any on hand.
We usually spray our yard like once a month and it does the trick. But if you happen to go in the woods around here past 6, forget it..it’s bug city! We did have a truck with one of those giant fog horns in the back spraying a little more than a week ago but it really hasn’t done much good around here. That 6” deluge back in May has led to some massive spawns in recent weeks, along with any smaller events since then.

The Deweys are starting to return as we knew they would. Grab your shortest shorts or speedos and get out there and enjoy it baby!

No matter what happens it’s gonna be hot and dewy..somewhere and for some indeterminate amount of time, that we know for sure. Maybe we’ll even see thunderstorms again, the likes of which we’ve never seen before!
-
As long as we get those dews up to 70 and I can saunter in the backyard half naked with a magarita then we shall endure through these trying times.

The humidity has def gone back up again noticeably after that brief coastal front passed through. It’s crazy how quickly we flipped the switch back up again after the winds gone dead silent. The mosquitoes have popped up all of the sudden too, bastards!
-
Still 88 here, at least according to the nearest station. These numbers are just insane at this time of the evening! Just a total furnace.

Down to 90 here. Time to open the windows. 90 inside, 90 outside, six of one, half a dozen of the other
As long as there’s plenty of spare beer bottles around I say embrace the sauna! It’s as refreshing as it gets.

Even a touch hot for my tastes earlier with the sun just torching everything and temps near or over 100, however perfect outside this evening.
Yeah it really is. I’ve had to make a concerted effort the last few days to just slow down because it’s such an adjustment fromlast week. But I wouldn’t trade this for nearly anything..the vibe is fantastic! Took this pic earlier when the sun was at full blast and a freshly bloomed Lilly for good measure.

100 on the nose here. This is crazy, especially so close to the ocean. Totally different vibe from yesterday too, just a total southwest heat inspired furnace!

79/75
The acatt gang is huddled up tight in their basements dreaming of a wet and dewy Christmas while window panes only grow moister with condensation from endless clouds of sweat and swamp ass! Ya love to see it.

What a fantastic evening outside, great breeze, temps creep in down into the mid 80’s……Summah
It’s still 86 and somehow and I can’t believe it..79 with the dews. I’ve never seen it that high this early in the season. This is some historic stuff we’re witnessing all around. Even my cat isn’t venturing far from the safety of the back porch and that little dude is borderline feral lol.

You better get used to these dews baby. We’re taking this party boat all the way to Christmas and back! The fun is just getting started.

Amen to all..you rarely see this kind of enthusiasm in the buttcrack of winter, at least along the coastal plain. I’m sitting on the back deck, with a nice glass of lemonade soaking in every minute of this. This is the type of weather that leads to great legends and stories to tell for eons to come!
