I'm the opposite. I get flooded every time there's a chance of a storm. Been a swamp here for years. Powers out, tree branches everywhere and lots of standing water. Probably had at least 3 inches so far. Probably closer to 4".

Bullseye here once again. The past 3 summers I get like 3 or 4 once every 10 year floods. Today looks like a 5 incher once done. Getting slammed again.

NAM 3k says "what rain?" It has a nasty DC split.

My saws get put up in about April and don't get cranked up again until October. That's if nothing crazy happens of course. A hurricane or severe thunderstorm has brought them out.

I was standing in my yard near all kinds of trees. I had to see it. I had to experience it. Boy did I lol. It went from silent to a distant roar. The roar got louder and louder until I could hear the sound of trees breaking. Sounded like a roar with shotguns going off at the same time. I stood there frozen with fascination as I experience the raw power of nature. I suddenly felt really humbled as fear kicked in. I started running towards my house when suddenly I heard that shotgun sound about 100 feet from me. Out of the darkness came a giant maple tree across my driveway as I was running past it. It missed me by 20 feet. I made it to my covered patio area and stopped to look back and see the tree that fell. When I stuck my head out the top of a 100' oak tree landed two feet from me. It was the best storm by far that I've ever seen. We had a gust to 81 and I was outside dodging falling trees. It was the experience of a lifetime.

I remember back in the 80's when I was a kid the sky was white with smog and haze on hot humid days. Seems like even on the hottest days now the sky is still really blue. I remember not even being able to see cumulus clouds building. Hot and humid under blue sky.

Probably same as it did in January lol 93 and disgusting outside.

Stephens City is the Short Pump of the high desert region. 91 with a tropical airmass in place. I feel like a good lightning show is on the way this evening for most of us.

I'm planting a second round of sweet corn this evening. This stand will be at least a foot shorter at harvest time then the one I planted this spring. The ears will be about the same size so that's what really matters. The difference in day length really effects corn.

Yup lol. First blue sky I've seen all day. Cucumber plants enjoyed the cloudy warm day.

Yup. I'm 7 miles east of Annopoils and about 5:30 it felt like the DP shot up suddenly. Windows are steamed up now. I'll be taking the drone up in a couple hours looking for lightning flashes to the NW.

A couple days ago it looked great this weekend and all this week. Now it 2 days then back to swamp. Reminds me of our great patterns during winter lol.

Weird how we reverted right back to the swamp pattern we've had the past 3 summers. Their seems to be a correlation between snowless winters and swampy mosquito filled cloudy summers. It's been challenging growing a garden in this climate.

So much for a beautiful weekend. Looks pretty socked in today. Cool, damn and cloudy. Feels like it's drizzling a bit too.

I wonder if that batch of rain will craw NE and hold together. Short range models hint at it.

Oh I see what you mean. The NAM 3K has a jackpot of 7" just west of DC. I doubt it though.

Looks like those of us that missed most of the rain yesterday will see some today. HRRR looks like a rainy day.

Crazy. You're actually like 3 miles from me. I put my drone up and it was a wall of water looking that way. I'm up on Bell Branch, Rd. We're considered Gambrills. I ended up getting a nice steady light rain for a couple hours so I'm happy.

Nothing here. I actually thought it was going to rain so I put fertilizer down in my corn stand. Now I've got to go turn the sprinklers on to water it in. I hate days like this. You're either under water or bone dry. Bone dry here with flooding all around me in just about every direction.

Same. My grass can burn in hell. All I care about is my garden. Looks like some towers are starting to bubble up already. Feels like a good lightning day.

I've been having a nice beneficial rain for the past 20 minutes or so. I'd estimate about .25 has fallen so far. Coming down hard suddenly and the sun is out. Perfect garden rain.

It kinda feels like the peak is past here in my area. Friday seemed to be the peak here. I'm seeing lots of dead ones now and the sound seems slightly less each day starting yesterday.

Yeah. The HRRR says to break out those sprinkles later today.
