    Found this.... prob explains it.

Here's why you smell plastic from a forest fire:

"Wood fires emit a ton of volitile organic compounds (voc)

Most of these VOCs are noticeable to our noses as the familiar "campfire" smell, but they breakdown quickly when exposed to UV radiation from sunlight.  Other VOCs like benzene, formaldehyde and acrolein are released and they outlast the "campfire" VOCs.

It's these chemical compounds that you're smelling as the smoke wafts around for a few days then settles to the ground and reaches your nose.

    Thus the plastic chemical smell."

Check out NBC, the TV is telling us it’s from storms

Three landspouts confirmed from Sunday evening in the vicinity of the I-80 corridor.

There was a boundary in that area all afternoon, which was reinforced by a deep inland lake breeze.

One was in my backyard just south of Grant Park, unsure how to post the video. I caught the very end of it.  We were wondering why no sirens

95% issuance of tornado watch in N 3/4 of Missouri and far W Central IL per SPC MD #388 for this morning cluster just exiting Kansas. Will be interesting to see how this plays out, will this wave be the main show for N IL? Are the dynamics of this system strong enough to recover quickly for the primary threat? Time will tell!

Also to note, am already seeing peeks of sun here in Chicago.

Working out of the south side of the city today. Peaks of sun, super bright. Day is starting to get that feel
