    Almost in a fog / haze out by me. Looked like a big storm cloud off in the distance and now that it rolled in it feels like it’s on the ground. Hard to explain and not sure if it’s something I’ve experienced before. I’m guessing it’s from the cold

    Haven’t checked in since the quick start to the season but I’m happy to report my area is back to the same old recent winters. Warm up and mud followed by big temp drops and ice. The ever cloudy skies are a nice touch as well

    I actually noticed that on the car dash this AM. It was 4 degrees when I left the house and 17 degrees when I pulled up to 69th and cottage

    Overdone? Still seems to be two camps with this one. Trends to me seem to indicate a pretty big event here but LOT and some posters here (guessing leaning into climo) are hedging their bet some.

    LOT hasn’t backed off the idea for rain/snow mix in my area for a time while WGN has been consistent with 8-10 for my area. I know our boy Tom isn’t behind the desk but I love when WGN weather doesn’t budge as the storm closes in.

    I’m about a foot of snow ahead of most of you so feels like I have to just watch this one and hope someone cashes in. Even 4 inches for me would be a steal. I’ll go 3.1 inches final call.

    Meh - no matter the wording, it was going to be extreme either way. I went to bed expecting 1-3 and woke up with about 14 inches. And I’m sure others went to bed expecting 14 and woke up with 3. Not sure how you win that forecast. The spread seemed reasonable.
