Midwest Summer Climatology/History

Recommended Posts

Some summer climatology for several sites in the Midwest. I'll have more stuff to post soon.

1984-2013 mean average temperature and precipitation.

1984-2013 mean maximum and minimum temperatures.

1984-2013 mean number of 90º+ and 100º+ days (values rounded up/down).

All values are "average of days" and are raw numbers (no smoothing). May differ from the NCDC method.

Summer mean averages that I used are an average of all days from June 1 to August 31. May differ from NCDC values. Months or summers that had 3 or more days with missing data were not included.

The relative lack of 100+ days at CLE compared to the other Midwest sites is quite noticeable. I never would have guessed that Marquette had so many 100 degree days. I wonder why such a stark contrast there compared to Duluth?
