I looked at the 12z GFS and was like:
...
haha what are those strange colors over our area. I'm use to just plain white
-
yes trends are good for us my friends but lets keep in the back of our minds where we live and what can happen with last min changes. let's hope for the best but stay grounded for now.

Wow just had a couple of huge claps of thunder. Just dumping snow all of the sudden. Pretty exciting
It's an awesome sight!

https://vimeo.com/119659716 huge snowflakes pouring down!!-
awesome alex! thanks for sharing

A brief moment of thundersnow here in SBY. Was taking the trash out and was quite surprised by a flash of lightning to my East.
just saw it. pretty awesome!

what worries me most about tue and wed is that there is no high to our north locking in the cold air. I know it's going to be cold but that damn east wind off the ocean seems to hate Salisbury.

hey guys we need a cool nickname for our sub sub-forum. I'm sending out the snow bat signal for us
-
Looking pretty good. I like where we sit but lots of time to get screwed.
I think you guys on the other side of the bay are in a much better position than me. I fear a change over to just plain rain for me. An on shore flow for me is the kiss of death for any snow. Ocean air sucks lol
-
Come on Alex.....bring this baby home for our little sub-forum

well looks like we may have a shot at snow snow next week. I think it's way way way too soon to know any given particulars at this time. I want snow as bad as anyone but weather models are terrible at predicting the future in the time frame. snow maps are fun to look at and give you this giddy feeling but at the end of the day next week doesn't exist yet lol. what are your guys current thoughts?
-
I'm not sure- the only ones I know how to get are the three main airports in the LWX area (DCA, IAD, BWI). You're under Mount Holly so idk what their official climo reporting stations are.
Edit: Wait- you're under Wakefield, not Mount Holly, right? They have Salisbury there but idk if that's an official climo station: http://www.weather.gov/climate/index.php?wfo=akq
yes you are correct. I'm under Wakefield until you hit the Delaware line then it goes to Mount Holly. Thanks for the info.

hey what's a good site to view daily snowfall records for your city??

Took 20 minutes to deice my windshield this morning. Ugh! I have a great feeling we all will get at least 4 inches of snow in the next week or so
my god man I hope you're right but if you're not I'm throwing that panic button at your window

Glad I didn't have to drive to work today, its icy here.
I've changed the thread title to include the lower eastern shore too now.
appreciate that good sir. trees and grass are a little icy out this way. surfaces, for the most part, are ok.

lol I knew someone was going to bring up January 1987... I wasn't sure what to do with those, because it seemed like they were only considered historic as a combined "double whammy" of back-to-back storms. Since the votes are for individual storm systems, it didn't seem fair to have that listed as one choice (especially since snowmageddon was split into two). However, I didn't know that the second one was the biggest one for your region, sorry about that... you can just vote "other" if you want.
lol it's all good my friend. I've learned to live vicariously through others and enjoy their big storms
-
for the lower eastern shore it was probably this one

it's the 4th quarter guys and we are down by 10 on the road. let's just see if we can steal a snowstorm win out of this
-
Well that didn't take long to melt
my snow melted in about 15 min. hey thanks for starting this thread. a place to come for comfort lol
-
lol @ people over here upset it didn't snow. I'm like do you know where you live. we are the Jacksonville Jaguars of winter weather
-
I got about an inch, so I'm happy (for now... lol).
No more little events. I want either a MECS/HECS in Feb. or just torch the whole way through.
half a dusting over here
