  1. Event total of 2.30", monthly total 9.75". The yard is a swamp this morning, 50F.
  2. Yes, the Pac jet has been the issue for the last several winters. I'm not cancelling winter on 12/27, but it seems I've been reading posts about the MJO cycling into better phases, jet retractions and SSW events since Thanksgiving. Just getting a feeling that in another 6 weeks or so, we'll be reading posts about how the writing was on the wall back around the holidays with all the cold air trapped on the other side of the globe and the wretched NA snow cover.
  3. Just want to make sure I'm following along...up until 48 hours ago, we were excited that a SSWE would occur to lock in a long-term, cold and snowy pattern. Now that the models seem to be backing off that idea it's, "we don't want a SSWE cause they wrecks our snow chances".
  4. Sun peaking out, temps approaching 50F (currently 48F). A typical Christmas Day weather wise in SE PA. Merry Christmas, everyone!!
  5. N’ah, too chilly for Christmas. We’re usually in the upper 50’s. Feels more like Memorial Day weekend at the shore. 38F
  6. Here’s another tip…get an education so you don’t have to work in fast food all your life!! It was BK. I gave the guy $2. Why? Cause if I don’t, he’ll spit in my food or wipe his a$$ with my burger!! And why does every counter have a tip jar now? Why can’t I buy something and not make it back to my car before I get a text or email asking me to compete a survey about my purchase or my “experience”? Yeah, “I walked into a cvs to buy toothpaste and it was an erotic experience”.
  7. Last evening in a moment of weakness I hit a fast food drive thru. The guy at the window asked if I would like to include a tip! wtf??? Is this something new?
  8. It doesn’t snow 99.999% of the time. Seems easy to ascribe any correlation one wishes. Happy Festivus all! 36F
  9. Damn, happy hour delivered! Enjoy the next six hours
  10. Op at range. But yeah, rain all the way up to the Poconos??
  11. Where are the under-sea volcanoes when we need them??
  12. In case this winter is a ratter, only 275 days until Fall 2024. Although I see other forums have already cancelled next winter due to a raging Niña, so only 640 days until Fall 2025. Patience!
  13. Something has to freeze first before there can be a thaw...just sayin'.
  14. Let me guess, it’s only 10 days away.
  15. Finished with 3.40”. Pavement quickly dried up with the gusty winds and some sun. The ground however should remain a sponge cake for the foreseeable future.
  16. Up to 3.35” now. Was 59F at midnight, currently 49F. Birdbath is overflowing so the critters will be happy. Neighbor’s inflatable penguin is swaying back and forth on the lawn, so winds are starting to pick up.
  17. The first outer bands are here, picked up .10” already. 50F
  18. Good mow yesterday (and I didn’t get stung by any yellow jackets). The last time I mowed was around Halloween. I mainly wanted to mulch the leaves but was surprised how much the grass had grown since late October. It looks like this storm is a Miller A? That has to be a good sign. They’ve been rare in recent years. And even if it was cold, this looks like it’s taking an inland track, so we’d be flipping to rain anyway. 48F
  19. Think I’ll sneak in one more mow out front today — mulch up the remaining leaves and cut the grass low so if we ever do break our 1” snow drought it will look like a BECS out there. Hope I don’t stir up any yellow jackets. 30F
  20. Not that it matters this far out but the 18z GFS takes that low up over Pittsburgh and into western NY. If that happened we might have a good shot at severe.
  21. I think you have us confused with the NYC forum
  22. So PSU got his inch. Does that mean we can have winter now??
  23. 2.9" total qpf over here near NPHS. Just a T of snow.
