What is wrong with this? Unless you are near the southern border? Since when is 5-9 inches of snow a bad thing? Keep the faith.
It is the fact that it keeps bumping north...and the fact that our events almost always set up the mix line 25-50 miles further north than modeled.
So while it shows a foot...given other guidance and our general history with storms I’d be shocked if Pittsburgh gets more than 6 inches before a rainstorm.

The reason we’re melting isn’t because you are going to get a nice storm...it is because in Pittsburgh we’ve had like one 8 inch plus storm in 8 years. It really sucks.
Good luck to you guys though.

I’m reading the Euro has caved to the gfs.
UnReal. All those times we have watched the GFS dump on us while the euro gives us garbage, the GFS always caves to the euro....except when the euro jackpots us.

Euro snow to mix then rain for southern counties. Central counties nice thump then mix. Northern tier snow.
So euro caved to the GFS?

Always overamped but I still think the city on south mixes unfortunately.
I fully expect some sort of mixing well up into butler county. Just the way it always works.

So I know they probably aren’t getting paid...but the KPIT discussion on this storm hasn’t changed in two days.
That said, I have a hard time blaming them but they tend to do this even when not shutdown.

NAM is close on the changeover line but a big hit.

Its only out to 27 on TT and it is way north but could still transfer.
Way north...way more amped.
By hour 30 though it is pretty similar to previous runs

Looks decent still, maybe a tad better then 18z for the LSV
Any maps?

I am going to sleep after the gfs, but I might set an alarm for the euro lol

Woooooo...the NAM! Hopefully it is picking up on something and the other models follow.

NAM looks to be a pretty huge shift south. Drawing me back in.

Well, once again I’m left wishing you central pa folks luck...
I will be drinking heavily Saturday...this is still better though than watching DC get their 20th foot plus storm this century.

The question is, is it too amped. If it is then we are in a good spot.
I mean, we can think that, but let’s be honest, we know how these always play out. At least this time it’s busting days in advance rather than in the last 24 hours.

Didn't you get like 28 days of measurable snow a couple years back, my memory is terrible but that would be a pretty good consolation prize. Although I love the big snows, that would be pretty cool as well. Correct me if it wasn't as exciting as I may think.
Getting half an inch consistently gets old actually. Most of our best recent storms are over performing clippers that we get 3-5 inches.
We haven’t got many 6 plus storms recently.

they were never really in this one, so crickets is sorta expected.
In case you are new here, they dont root on northern snow - or any snow for anyone outside of their village.
I can’t read that forum. They get what seems like a major or historic storm every year and then whine they got 18 instead of 28.
meanwhile I’m sitting here with one 10 inch storm in the last 8 years lol.

The GFS continues to be a total mess for almost all of us, changing almost everyone south of 80 to rain.
I really hope this isn’t the one time it scores a victory over.

0z Euro has all snow in Allegheny County (just barely lol). Not as fortunate down here.
It is infuriating to look at a Low position in central WV, yet it still trying to flip to rain/slop here.
It seems like it should be an almost ideal track for us, but it seems like we have to keep the low 200 miles from us or we changeover.

Well, I think we can agree there...I wish for DC to be 33 and a driving rain every storm.
