  1. Got bumped back up to 70%. Look like if it stays around 10N it might have a chance to redevelop.
  2. It seems to be on a similar track as Isaac. And Isaac encountered a lot of shear. I am learning so please be patient... so has shear decreased? Are environmental factors more favorable?
  3. Well, this is gross! https://www.cbsnews.com/news/hurricane-florence-flood-hog-manure-pits-coal-ash-dumps-north-carolina/
  4. I am hoping I am not the only one here that finds this post to be uncomfortably strange, ill placed, and almost offensive. Back to the storm at hand... After living through Harvey, Ike, (truly any storm in the last 40 years that has effected the Gulf Coast/ Houston ) recovery from Flo is going to be a long journey. My heart goes out to all of those in her path.
  5. Sadly, when the media hyped Harvey a lot of people did not listen (eh public officials). If Flo had gained strength shortly before coming ashore we would all be singing a different tune. And from what I have read HERE it could have happened. Mother Nature... gotta love her!
  6. Looking at the wind sheer in the Gulf, from an untrained eye, it looks to be minimal. The water is warm and I do not see a high pressure system reaching down this far in the near future. Are there other factors to consider? (That is if it reaches the GOP as a wave) Sorry for all the questions, I have always been interested in storm development, but I am trying to educate myself. I really want to learn, but I have always been afraid to ask. Edit: One more question, if Isaac reorganizes will it be renamed or will it stay Isaac?
  7. Questions of interest: Might this be the next system to watch? Any chance Isaac will thread the needle between Cuba and Mexico? What might disrupt development or increase a chance for development? Ps: I am just a math teacher that loves weather so please forgive my ignorance.
