A few brief power outages this afternoon, which is better than we sometimes do in wind events.

Quite the temperature yo-yo overnight. Jumped briefly to 52 before quickly settling by back to 41-42.

.True, but the N&W Philly suburbs (a better comparison to IAD) get substantially more snow than PHL.
Philly will almost always do better than the DC-area with Miller Bs (where latitude often makes a difference).

Impressive temperature contrast in the car thermometer on the drive home from DC: 46 downtown, 41 in Arlington, and 37 at the Beltway & Georgetown Pike.

In theory yes, but I’m skeptical that Fairfax will decide based on temps/ice out here in the hinterlands. There was one event last February where we had early morning ice and 31-32 degrees but much of the county was just wet. I don’t recall that leading to a delay.
That said, I think tomorrow will most likely be a delay.
