  1. TWC (take it for it's worth..lol) has the highest temp here at 40 on Tuesday and then mid to upper 30s for two other days. I think their forecasts are GFS-generated? If we only get to 40 with maybe some light rain, I can see the snowpack doing ok. I see it has Syracuse on the very edge of getting some wintry weather. Hopefully it'll move farther SE and we can break this awful "Tughill curse" of always being on the edge.
  2. Picked up about 1.5 inches in this morning's burst of snow and still lightly snowing.
  3. Safe travels and have a great time! I went to Cicero last night and noticed there was less snow there than on this side of the county.
  4. Winds going NW faster? Causing an Underperformer for Buffalo? That means an over-achiever for CNY...right?
  5. You know how there was some discussion about DT on here earlier? I also was a part of Eastern and remember his violent outbursts. Anyways... how does the man expect people to take him any more seriously than they do JB when he posts maps like the "Start Time" map below?
  6. Haha! I was thinking the same thing. We are winter weenies and nobody on here is touting huge blowtorch all month. There's a thaw coming (boo) and the map he posted isn't "brutal cold" either. lol... Even it's just a map for a several day stretch. Oh, and good for Judah Cohen.
  7. Whenever we've had cutters show up in the long range this season (December), they have usually ended up much weaker and farther south. Perhaps we revert back to that situation...but hopefully with it being February, we get better results. But then, the GEFS are often the SE outliers.
  8. Can we get those Lows next week to move hundreds and hundreds of miles SE like the other Lows have this year? Probably not, since it's the northern stream.
  9. Not sure about that. The bottom half of our snowpack is dense, solid ice that you can walk on. Lots of water locked in there. I see lots of low hanging fog coming our way.
  10. 40s to 50s, high dewpoints, rain, and rapidly melting snow is the MOST depressing weather ever. I try to hibernate as much as I can. Next week will be a loooong week. lol
  11. Same! Northern part of the county is doing better. With our averages being higher, it's still a large deficit...not as extreme though.
  12. I believe WNW flow is most common in February? We need a combo of Synoptic snowfall and lake effect snowfall. One of them alone can't get us to average.
  13. All the 12Z runs pretty much show the continuation of all the Upstate snowbelts except the CNY one getting some more lake effect snows. Western NY has been cashing in synoptically and lake effect-wise while we continue to "penny our way" to a third of average.
  14. If we could guarantee this happening days after the thaw, I am willing to shout from the heavens next Tuesday, "Free them hairy legs!" @BuffaloWeather @Syrmax
  15. Hmmm, which one's been more right...yet the other one is more realistic......
  16. You guys all have multiple personalities when it comes to weather vs. Sports. Upstate NY Weather Thread to @Blue Moon: "Welcome! "You will love it here with all the snow! We look forward to your reports! Post often." Upstate Banter Thread to Blue Moon: "You're a $+@-# moron. Go back to Tenny where you get a dusting. Nobody cares about you here and what you think. Loser."
  17. Lol...so was that bantering going back and forth legit??? There were some pretty harsh words typed back and forth between he and a few of you ..
  18. With at least the next week and maybe even longer looking like a loss in the snow department, I am seriously wondering if we will even get 50% of normal. 19-20: 90 inches (meh, next winter will be better) 20-21: 80 inches (ugh, next winter will be better...never had three consec years suck) 21-22: Even worse! So far...
