It's just as likely the Labrador Current has been weakened by the Barents water being warmed by GIS ice melt. Water 8-12C since 2011 has poured into the Barents off the west coast of GIS. I am certain I've read it slows down the Labrador current. Which would allow warmer water to reach further NW.

The blaming ninos for the warming while at the same time for over a century Nina's bring no cooling. Folks are already blaming el nino for the warmth explosion of 2014/15. We are only now seeing the nino reach any consistency. Those nino 3/4 from last fall were very far West base. It was a pos neutral touching weak weak nino at times. That didn't really change until the end of March. The nino has come to life fast. But the subsurface has barely begun to make an impact. So right now ENSO 3 and 4 are being impacted. That will shift West and mostly impact enso 4. But it will also reinforce the subsurface warm pool. Then further East enso 1-3 is going to see a MASSIVE jump in SSTA. That's nasty. This thing is about to go ham. Oh yeah look West of Australia and the rest of the Indian ocean. Lol wth.

Dude Ashville is in the far Western part of North Carolina. It is in Climate division #1. http://www.ncdc.noaa.gov/monitoring-references/maps/us-climate-divisions.php Climate division #4 is the one that says above normal. The division Ashville is in landed on normal bar. NCDC uses 1901-2000. Using the 1981-2010 climo is wrong. And if folks are using anomaly's based on the 30 year averages and then comparing them to graphics that are based on the 20th century averages and then peddling them off as if the NCDC is in some conspiracy they are tin foil wearing ignorant morons who don't know what they are talking about. I don't care if folks are crazy pro or anti AGW but when folks desicrate valid scientific data sets like whatever blog posted total crap about the NCDC it pisses me off. Speading misinformation period is super weaksauce.

They are taking it out of context. Here is the statewide graphic. There is nothing fishy about it. Folks who are ignorant about the process NCDC uses will probably think absolute anomalies are comparable when they aren't. A 4F+ month in place could be in the top 10 warmest on record. While -8F anomalies somewhere else could be outside of that top 10. Sadly there are going to be thousands of folks toiling in ignorance thinking the NCDC must be apart of some government conspiracy to promote global warming.
