Three day total of 2.47" IMBY. Radar estimates show a county or two south and west easily doubled that. We needed every drop here. But over double that would probably be a tad excessive.

2.30" of rain last night, this morning. Got the worms out of the ground. Now to see if we any more of note this afternoon.

Yep. Looks like MSP is in the sweet spot. The are of snow is just rotating right over us. The Duluth radar looks crazy too. North Shore is getting dumped on again today. Already well over a foot in Duluth and Two Harbors.
.lol you made me click on the Duluth Canal cam and I got to see the Gott leaving in the blowing snow.

Kind of silly but the Indian tribes of the area called this area of central Indiana something that loosely translates into, "Place of Big Wind". The map sort of shows that. Of course today the wind is blowing 29 gusting to 39. Windy indeed.

I could see on the visual satellite this afternoon that the edge of this departing system was approaching the Illinois/Indiana border. I thought there might be a chance at some post sunset color so I went out in the country to make sure I had as clear a view to the west as I could get. I guessed right. There was a brief red flash but I was not expecting a sun pillar also.

Quality soaker today
0.40" in the tippy bucket so far. This is the greatest amount of moisture in a system in quite awhile here. Was getting used to less than 0.1 or just a trace. The ground really had that wet smell to it for the first time of the season.

After a day of mostly to partly cloudy, around sunset the clouds all decided to take a hike.
Looking southeast close to sunset with an old microwave repeater and a new light standard. Taken with the 24-70mm at 50mm
Not much towards sunset other than some random contrails. Taken with the 24-70mm at 70mm...

Was able to get to the post sunset during a work day. today. Only had time to get home grab the camera and hustle to the municipal lot which is close to the house. Still not enough time to make it all the way out to the overpass yet.
The yellow/orange. Taken with the 24-70mm at 57mm...
The sort of red/ really just a deeper orange. Taken with the 24-70mm at 53mm and cropped in the camera.
