  1. Perfect Low track for a big one. Just need a blast of cold air to lock in
  2. Today is a win for this winter! Hasnt gotten above 37 all day with a forecast high of 41. A little sleet this morning...EPIC
  3. 70"s tuesday, wed and thirsday here! Spring is here for now
  4. Yea it's been showing a southeast ridge...aka warm up for several days on ensembles and global operational models. The warm is coming I'd be willing to bet any amount it will verify
  5. Basically what I was saying last week. Looking long range into the middke of feb the pattern gets real bad. Then if it flips you got another week or so before it affects us. That puts us into the end of feb. Time isn't on our side here...
  6. Yea buddy dont clutter up the long term thread when were in frontal passage storm mode...smdh I'm with ya on the sudoku nino or whatever it is...supposed to be great and heading to some awesome phase...ain't happening. Were about to go zonal in freaking February and the epic cold ain't even making it down here now. I'm not forecast to go below 20 now. Big frigging deal
  7. Yep looking at the next 10 days on the ensembles and controls looks awful. I just said the same thing a few days ago. This will definitely go down as the most over hyped winter for the southeast ever if something doesnt change real soon. We've had more threats in the warmer and drier than average winters. I will never buy into all the BS again from the experts. Dont care what the unicorns are doing in the solar system and the sun and the ocean and all that crap. Give me spring already!
  8. Just basing it off the ensembles in the 7-14 day span. They've all trended away from any real threats in the SE. Believe me I hope they're wrong and very well could be. Hopefully something sneaks up on them but as it stands right now theres nada out there to look forward to for snow lovers outside the NC mountains. That's been the trend for the last 2 days. Yes cold is coming...after all the good signs and above average forecasts from virtually everyone color me pessimistic now as we havent even gotten average yet in the upstate or Ne Ga. And climatology speaking our prime time is from Jan 1 to mid February here. Sure we could be in for a fabulous February and a Marvelous March...and surely hope so. But over the last decade from mid February on Spring comes knocking here. Hell the last couple of years I've been fishing for spawning bass in February. Sure most forecasts call for a back loaded winter...just when is the end of the back anymore??
  9. Safe to say January is shot along with the first of Feburary. Gives most of us about a 4 week window realistically for snow chances.
  10. For some it's been good..for us others not so much. Hell it never dropped below 38 here last night.
  11. Has the low lands from Augusta to Myrtle Beacb hammered around the 30th. Us up here around 1000ft nada..awesome pattern!
  12. Dont worry boys fab feb and marv march is yet to come....bahahaha
  13. WWA for here in the morning. Could be our best shot at frozen precip in this awesome pattern....lol
  14. I'm watching close..has had it since yesterday and hasnt backed down for ne ga and nw sc
  15. Yep need some of that blocking neg nao that was advertised and sst mjo bs
  16. Itll take an absolute perfectly timed event to score right meow. Hope and pray a flip is coming around day 15.
  17. Yea the ensembles look very blah and seasonal at best. I'm waiting for all these great things to happen and hoping it doesnt push all the way to February before it flips.
  18. See post above Lookout..its beyond frustrating..I dont understand it. I think the biggest thing for me is track of the low when temps are marginal. Or if the wedge has already established itself.
  19. I've actually seen it go both ways..sometimes itll lock in here and we will be 5-7 colder than GSP when it retreats. Then theres days like today when I'm at 40 and gsp is at 33. I guess it's where the high sets up shop. Those that are more Hudson babyish or more northern seem to be better for new sc. More east based toward Va seem to help gsp more..I guess. I got to see about 6 hrs of awesome snow but surface temps never got below freezing last night. Then around 0230 the warmth took over and it was a sleet fest.
  20. Well I have slowly risen to 40 now..depressing
