  1. I'm the guy at the top of the mountain, while my GF is sitting beside me
  2. Hi guys You know ... once in a while I pop out to post some photos from my homeland in the foothills of the italian Alps This time I have, since early june, something new: a DJI Mini2 drone Here some photos and videos of these past 2-3 months around my hometown
  3. N-NW Japan is surely Heaven for any snowlover. Those sea-effect snowfalls are just epic.
  4. Hi guys ! Finally a beautiful and "oldstyle" snowstorm in my town, after these last years of misery with few snowfalls and hardly above 4". In the night and morning of December 28th, my town received about 16", of which 10" in less that 5 hours between 7:30am and midday. Some pics during the storm Short clip Clearings by the late afternoon from on of my webcams The day after with some residual snowshowers Some pics of the past few days
  5. Just for the record, these are my other two cams: An Hikvision 4mp, 2.8 mm (the other new one) , with view to W-NW, and my older one, a Reolink 5mp with 4x optical zoom and view to NE-E.
  6. Hi guys I return on the board after many months; lately I've been very busy, while now I'm starting to have some more freetime. This past week I updated 2 of my 3 webcams on the roof; one in particular is an Hikvision with an 8mp Darkfighter sensor and 2.8mm lens, and the results are amazing being an IP security camera ! https://www.hikvision.com/en/products/IP-Products/Network-Cameras/Pro-Series-EasyIP-/DS-2CD2085G1-I/ The image quality (both daily and at night) is practically like the one of my older webcams, which were 3 Canon photocams (Powershot serie) attached to a mini-computer, that used them as a webcam. Take a look at those 2 samples The price is relatively affordable: on many sites you can find them in the range of 150-200 €, but in some ones even by 120-130. Bye !
  7. Thanks Joe ! I hope to make a lot of photos this winter, but unfortunately our snowy amounts have been on a deep fall since the '80s here in northern Italy, due the exceptional warming trend of the past 30-40 years in Europe. Just to say: between the 1961-1989 serie and the 1990-2017 one, the average decrease of the yearly snow in Po Valley has been -36%. Here in my area it's even bigger, by 50% The fact that the majority of our snowfalls happened/happens usually around 32°F, of course increase the effects (on the snow averages) of a warming trend in winter temperatures.
  8. Hi Sauss06 To be precise, northern Italy (foothills of the Alps, near lake Garda). The small lake is Cei lake https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lago_di_Cei https://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lago_di_Cei
