    Yea, between january and february 1709 it was the only occasion in which "my" Lake Garda, the largest in Italy, froze completely; in other severe winters (like 1929, 1963 or 1985) we have had at most a few frozen bays and ports. Horse-drawn carriages could pass from the east shore to the west shore ! Frozen Venice lagoon
