  1. We didnt have trees close enough to fall on the roof but Ike did make me get a new roof as we lost big sections of shingles. 81 mph peak gust and it blew close to that all day. I think we were without power for 2 or 3 days. It was pretty cool as I was out in it all day but it was a real PIA after. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using Tapatalk
  2. No one is arguing the merits of testing. You are talking about going from a half million tests per day to tens of millions of tests per day. I hope it can be done but it seems a little pie in the sky to me. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using Tapatalk
  3. With all the assymptomatic cases it may be like trying to place a hurricane warning on the US coast based on one ship report in the Leeward Islands. I have my doubts there will ever be enough tests or people to run down every contact. We are about 6 weeks into social distancing and almost as long into the shut down and still getting record numbers. Yeah, there are more tests but still getting that many positives is concerning. 4. On the bad news front all of these assymptamatic cases and maybe even mild cases may be able to get it again this fall. Nothing is known for sure yet but just based on other coronavirus infections the severity of the disease may be tied to immune response down the road. 2 to 3 years in severe cases and 2 to 3 months possibly in mild or assymptomatic cases. 5. The 1200 was a stimulus payment. The enhanced unemployment insurance also gives an extra 600 per week on top of regular unemployment for 4 months. A very large percentage will be making more on unemployment than their regular salary with less expense as far as gas and what not. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using Tapatalk
  6. Good point. Those areas east of the Rockies are pretty socially isolated anyway and usually it's a pretty good drive to get anything. The SE is a bit worrying however. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using Tapatalk
  7. According to the Jerusalem Post an Israeli doctor working in Italy reported that patients over 60 are no longer allowed to be put on ventilators. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using Tapatalk
  8. If it isn't worse than 2009 then it will be because of the measures being taken. 61,000,000 infections on 2009. A conservative estimate of that many infections with this virus would result in 610,000 deaths. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using Tapatalk
  9. From PAH Evansville and Paducah will finish the 2019-2020 winter season (Dec-Feb) with no measurable snow. First time on record for Evansville this has occurred. Tied least snowy winter for Paducah, last set in 1991-1992. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using Tapatalk
  10. We have a long ways to go to catch up with Venus. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using Tapatalk
  11. Hottest day of the year, 92/78/108. Still time to go higher. Nothing record breaking, but still nasty. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using Tapatalk
  12. Don't mind at all getting screwed with the Monday system. I'll take no snow and 5 below as opposed to snow and 25 below. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using Tapatalk
  13. Crazy shift the last 24 hours. Went from less than an inch to maybe 8 depending on where the defo band sets up. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using Tapatalk
  14. Yikes. That looks icy for a lot of us. I would rather have the 3 inches of rain and flash freeze. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using Tapatalk
  15. We got into the -30's here for that one and the -20's sometime in the late 90's iirc. I hope that we don't approach that again. Minus single digits is plenty cold enough. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using Tapatalk
  16. It has been pretty comical around these parts. The December to remember was being pitched in early November. It kept getting pushed back. Christmas we were going to get blasted and then New Years and now they have finally punted till the 20th. If we get down to climo it will be talked up like the next ice age and victory declared. 17. I have been on that cruise, albeit 20 years or so ago. IIRC you are only on the water for 30 minutes or so. If they don't have someone monitoring the weather and warning them off before they hit the water that is gross negligence. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using Tapatalk
  18. Last night and today, probably going to go up unfortunately.
  19. I have never been on the coast waiting for a hurricane to come in but with the continuing flooding and the impending severe weather it seems to have that feel to it.
