I think everything is 3-4" thick going out at least a few thousand feet. That ice looks to be south of here near the Dunkirk pier? But you can pretty safely ice skate now almost anywhere along the immediate shore line.

The hard part, though, is finding a mirror flat surface like that. 99.9% of the ice I’ve seen on the big lakes is crusty, horrible stuff.

That's not how it works, Tim. The point others are trying to make is that the Kuchera maps were showing AREA-WIDE totals, related to the SYNOPTIC part, of 15 to 20 inches. That did NOT verify. The only places to get to 15 to 20 inches were those that got lake effect or lake enhancement. As mentioned several times, the Kuchera snowfall totals did NOT verify for the majority of those on this board.

The kuchera maps we were posting were for the entire storm. And they did nearly verify. You guys are changing the context of the point of contention.
whatever. It was a good storm regardless of the semantics

Really.  This isn't Mt. Tolland. ROC 10-12", I'm buying that. The 14" in Wayne (per NWS PNS) and 20" in eastern Monroe (CoCoRaHS) ctys as of this a.m.? Not so much.

The Syracuse folks have abandoned all hope and have embraced bitterness in desperation. Lol. Wasn’t there a movie called ‘The Angry Inch’? That’d make a great avatar name for ya.
