I just got home from downtown Frederick. My daughter had her first night of dance recital rehearsal. Major flooding on going in downtown Frederick. Stuck to the higher roads and still encountered flooding. Made it home all be it carefully, never want to drive through anything like that again. My back yard station is currently at 4.38" and it is still dumping. Thunder is non stop with CG lightning off and on.

Looks wicked DC and south. North, not so much
We just had the end of that line blow through Frederick. Dumped .36" in about 8 min. Still have rolling thunder and lightning. There are some storms developing out in front of the line also towards Baltimore. So while as not as impressive as the main part of the line to the South we did get some action.

The North end of the line just hit here. Wow the wind driven rain is crazy!

Unless it builds more to the East the tip of the line will just brush my backyard.

Over here in Frederick starting to see the clouds from the line to my West.

Nothing like watching SE and NE DC get a decent storm pop-up meanwhile here in Silver Spring gets a split job and storms blowing up east of it. Still haven't heard thunder yet this year, awesome.
In the same boat up here in Frederick. Hell of a light show to my East though.

Officially taking out my raised bed this year. We have been part of a CSA for close to 7 years now and get all of what I used to plant. My last garden got attacked by stink bugs so much that nothing stopped them. Our yard backs to farm land and what ever is over there comes over to my yard.
Going to take the spot where the bed was and make a small rock patio to place our fire pit on. Also need to remove/transplant a Hydrangea that was supposed to be a mini but got way too large for the place it is.

I was in Gatlinburg, TN and had no idea anything had happened until my husband texted me saying that they just had an earthquake. Then it took me close to an hour just to contact him. I am personally glad I was not at home. I experienced at 4.2 in LA, small potatoes to them out there but it is not natural to see concrete walls move back and forth. Was one of the main reasons that I told him I did not want to continue living there.

If you can get past the cheesy soundtrack, this video chronicles the storm from start to finish. My favorite part is between 1:05 and 1:45. So beautiful!
Love the sled made of a Roasting pan and a belt!

Had to dig 2 cars out at our old townhome 3 times that winter. I bow down everyday for the garage we now have.

Subtle shake in Frederick....nothing like the 5.8 though.
After my 10 hour drive yesterday I was fast asleep.

I just got home from Gatlinburg, TN. My husband texted me saying that there was an earthquake here. I felt nothing there. Sucked that I could not get through to him till about an hour later. He got home to Frederick and said nothing was out of place.

I was in the Weinberg Center for the Arts when this hit. Could hear it on the roof. A leak opened up on the stage just as kids were dancing. Quarter sized hail out front.
