Finished with 2.46" through the tipper. Poor sump pump has never worked harder. I guess the causeway between Portsmouth and New Castle was impassible earlier...what a bad week for anyone near the water.
-
ICON sort of likes it still for what it's worth
-
2.3 and counting FFS
-
1.48" So done with the water. Sump has been running three days straight.

Wouldn't hurt to get a couple inches in squalls and keep it around for a while. Would help brighten the landscape and the mood in here before a hopefully bigger event late week. 40/35 at 1130pm on 1/12...can't wait for this junk to go away.
-
May end up being a good squall at least on Sunday PM. Love a nice 15 minute whiteout. Potential for something more interesting.
-
2.6" of rain for the event. Pretty much wiped the yard but have some snow left along the edges. What a cluster today along the shore in Hampton. Cars driving over route 1 through the salt marsh with a foot of seawater pouring over the road.

I think that's the advisory area. High wind warning closer to the coast.

I'll consider it a win if this blows through quickly enough or get into a dry slot to avoid the basement issues. Holding onto a crusty inch or two of slush in the yard would nice too.

Some light snow showers still moving through but will finish at 14" here. Nice storm and glad it was mostly in the fluffier variety. 23/21

Best rates of the storm now. Dumping. 23/21

In a hole here for a while. Looks like it's filling back in but lost some potential. 24/22

Measured about 8" a little while ago. Still snowing lightly before part 2. 24/23
-
Getting some better accumulation now. Maybe a quarter inch down and visibility dropping. 32/30
-
Flakes starting here. Need an obs thread. 33/25

Pending Euro's output but a blend of NAM/GEM/GFS would certainly get the job done here.

GFS shaping up for another good thump on the 10th.

I'm more concerned about a miss to the south but would rather see it giving us a scraping at this point and get some ticks north as we get closer.

0.0" of snow?
Maybe a trace but I don't really count those if it disappears in an hour and I'm not able get out there to measure accurately in time. Had a 1/2" in November.

December ending with 7.51" of precip for the month, second only to August. Year will finish at 67.18".

For those who love great snow scenes check out Lapland videos and shorts on YouTube. Unbelievably beautiful.
Agreed. I occasionally check out the Levi ski resort web cams over there to look at what a real winter wonderland looks like.

Six days in a row with measurable precip. Maybe we can trade the mist for a little snow in the air tomorrow afternoon per 18z NAM.
-
1.00" since Sunday and 7.25" for the month. Taking two weeks off for the holidays each year and it's usually the same period we get into these funks. Maybe next year will be different. Just got to shrug your shoulders at this point and look for a break on the horizon.

No white Christmas but maybe white New Year's. Will take it. Nice foggy morning...36/36.
