  1. The New England forum cracks me up. Post after post distilling the window ac installation habits of it's members broken up suddenly by news of a member coming across a black bear the size of a fiat on a pre dawn run. Also, don't run away from bears if you don't want to be chased. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  2. Sweet sweet rain Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  3. God love the gfs 968mb Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  4. Another weird thing about that area is because of the army base Blackhawk helicopters would always fly these lights out training missions on nights with a new moon. You would hear all these helicopters above you, but be lucky to even glimpse one. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  5. I used to live close to CXY. That area indeed has its own little microclimate. Heat via downsloping and a bit of a rain shadow from the hills to the west and south. Most of our heat comes on winds with a westerly component to them. The sensors at kmdt catch that right off the river. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  6. Start praying to hurricane gods Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  7. What happened by the Ft Lauderdale Hollywood airport yesterday is insane. 25" of rain in 24 hours, 34+" in 48 hours Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  8. If this holds we will about 6.5" for year. Basically 3"+ below the YTD amount in 2001, our 2nd driest year ever at 26" Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  9. Voyager, I never thought I would see roads worse than Pennsylvania; then I drove on I-17. My god, if it wasn't a rental car I'd feel the need to get my suspension checked Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  10. I guess it's over a 100" Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  11. Actual 1972/73 Flagstaff got 210" 79'/80' 177" Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  12. They have had 139.1" YTD. Good for 13th. Number 6 is 145.9" in 2019. Then it jumps to 164.2 in 1980 and all time is 184.4" in 1965. They average 90.1" per year with it snowing 28 days on average. I think seven springs on averages 87.7" a year. It's elevation is 7,000ft. The ski resort 30 min north has base at 9,200, and lifts almost to 12,000. They still have a base depth of 123" and received 398" this winter. Hell the day with highest average temperature here is right around July 4th, and it's 81. When phoenix is upper 90s Monday here will be 68-72. But I'll be in Phoenix by then cause others like heat Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  13. In Flagstaff. Seen more snow than I have all winter Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk

  17. If you miss the pocket this day was nothing. If you hit one it verified. I dont know if weather forcasting can ever get to point where it can predict 1/2 mile windpockets in 10 mile area ahead of time Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  18. Driving on 81 and 581 to camp hill. Hit multiple corridors of insane wind. Saw tractor tail be blown almost over. It seems the super strong winds are in super small coridors, maybe couple hundred yards wide. Its weird Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  19. 4900 Spring Rd, Shermans Dale, PA 17090 The minute the wind picked up Watched the tree crack, fall, come a foot away from smashing car driving. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk

  21. Thats the one. I forget what causes the green sky and how its related to severe storms but ill never forget how erie it was and how you could tell how much shear was there due to super fast moving low clouds heading at different angles to the storm motion Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  22. Does anyone remember storms that came through June 1st, 2011? I think a tornado touched down near carlisle. I lived in carlisle and the image of the sky being super green in burned into my memory. There were also straightline winds 70mph as afterwards i renember downtown had half the streets closed due to straightline winds Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  23. So how often does a day 5 wind threat get mentioned as "formidable" and "area wide 40mph" in day 5 extended forecasts? If someone has access to saturday's gfs wind guest they should post it. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
