Sitting at 26. Clouds rolled in.
-
GSP upgraded to a warning. * WHAT...Heavy wet snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 3 to 5 inches, with locally higher amounts on eastern and southern facing mountain slopes.
-
HRRR showing precip trying to squeak into the southern mountains by 5-6PM.
-
I'll let others speak to that. Haven't seen it. December 2018 had 16 at the house, AVL reported 10. Not the same setup of course.
-
Where'd you pull this? (First time seeing)
-
I seriously doubt AVL makes it to 46 today.
-
I think we'll be upgraded by noon. HRRR keeps coming in a bit colder. Enjoying the ride. Live for days like this!
-
Kind of surprised to see that. Especially parts of Henderson. I've got a few hundred feet on the town, fingers crossed! Need those clouds to start moving in. Made it down to 22 at the house.

18Z NAM keeping the snow around for a while. Still snowing at at good clip 5PM Friday.
-
Where'd you see this? I couldn't find in the discussion.
-
Trying to dig up how this (LR HRRR) performed w/ the NE storm earlier in December.
-
FWIW, the 18Z HRRR is a crush job through 48. And it's not even done snowing yet.

WSW just issued. Very odd range. The used the same for everyone in the WSW even over to the foothills. * WHAT...Heavy mixed precipitation possible. Total snow accumulations of 1 to 5 inches along with a light glaze of ice possible. * WHERE...Much of the mountains, northern foothills, and northwest Piedmont of North Carolina. * WHEN...From Thursday evening through Friday evening. * IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the Friday morning commute. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Monitor the latest forecasts for updates on this situation.

Wondering if GSP will issue WSW this afternoon or tomorrow morning. Hopefully this afternoon. A celebratory beer is in order.

Friday is my 10th anniversary of joining the site. A good snow would be perfect!
