  1. These gusts during the height of the heavy snow Sunday 10AM on the 12k NAM - phew!
  2. Hell, I was up before the sun the other week outside watching it snow for an hours or so. Thrilled with 1/2 an inch
  3. Anyone know what models are used for the NWS blend? 12Z:
  4. "While the low track along I-95 will allow WAA to cause p-type to transition to rain from snow well inland, this will not be the case in the higher terrain where WPC probabilities for 6 inches are above 70% from near Asheville, NC through the Laurel Highlands of PA, and it is likely many locations will receive more than 1 foot of snow." https://www.wpc.ncep.noaa.gov/discussions/hpcdiscussions.php?disc=qpfhsd Mention of 1 foot is probably for the north.
  5. Don't start jumping now. It's the NAM at 60hrs. And it's still snowing.
  6. Lets not forget that it is the NAM... at 50+ hours...
  7. A solid 7-8 hours of moderate to heavy snow through HR 51.
  8. Right? Can't believe I'm past 10 years on this site...
  9. Precip moving in on the NAM around 1AM Sunday, AVL is at 28/25 by 4AM at 25/23
  10. Was reading back through the thread leading up to the 12/2018 storm... Good times! It went from "bad trends on the EURO today folks" to everyone getting 12+ inches...
  11. Mean is 14in for KAVL: https://www.emc.ncep.noaa.gov/users/meg/gefs_plumes/index.html?stationname=KAVL
  12. SREF Plumes up to 8.5 for AVL https://www.spc.noaa.gov/exper/sref/srefplumes/ Also, those gusts during the storm on 6z EURO aren't playing around. Going to be some power outages for sure.
  13. Took the day off so I could nerd out - damn this hobby!
  14. I like how the NAM is showing some snow showers starting tomorrow early afternoon. A little teaser for what's to come!
  15. AVL SREF Plumes showing 7.5 mean - not bad! https://www.spc.noaa.gov/exper/sref/srefplumes/
  16. Hell yeah. I’m most excited about it being a prolonged event on a Sunday. Perfect day to just sit back, relax and watch things play out.
  17. Not a lot of changes. Good runs overnight! We’re still looking at a major winter storm. Don’t start cliff diving if the models show less that 12in
  18. The best forecasted storms always shape up to be historic or the bust of a lifetime. This is what's fun!
  19. Yeah, the last couple of years have been dreadful. Hope we can reel this in.
  20. Is GSP going to go with a blizzard watch?? (Joke!)
