  1. Crazy how the course looked a couple of months ago, greened up fast with the overseed, although seemed like a lot of the bermuda still present with the warm weather.
  2. Bliss corner, just a couple of miles from me
  3. Earthquake in Portsmouth RI just now?
  4. .05” yesterday, 1.17” today. Portsmouth RI
  5. .32” on Monday, .13” this evening, chipping away
  6. .25 round 1 Monday, .25 round 2 Tuesday, 0 yesterday. .5 total for the week.still dry here, but the half inch helped the green up
  7. I have been watering, so ground easily accepts any water, but my neighbors who haven’t been watering, started to green up in spots, but some have long term damage that will require reseeding
  8. .24” neighborhood stations, good start, some quick greening in spots
  9. Can probably make some money off that now, what’s it trade for on secondary markets. Regardless their success at the Open , as I think a zinger pointed out, supports the notion that speed of the golf swing is a great indicator ofsuccess.
  10. Just one spot available now
  11. If anyone is interested A group of friends and I are are doing a golf weekend sept 18-20, we are playing fox hop yard the 19th and lake of isles the 20th. We have two spots if you want to join us . We’ll put some $ in for a team event and stableford match, so if you carry a handicap that would Be good but we could work around it if you don’t, let me know.
  12. Be interesting to see if winner finishes below par
  13. Great , it’s members before 11, but allows public play after. Current ownership at NN ruined it. We used to walk it during the week after 2 for $48. Now members pay a walking fee. Don’t think they allow public to walk. Course gets very little play which I think is what the current owner want. Back when you could have water on the course , he pulled all water off the course. I am told they are using styrofoam in the cups.
  14. I play montaup in Portsmouth every week, worth a play. Left is dead on that course though. Newport national in Middletown is a great track, with new ownership you’ll pay over $100 in season, can get away under that after oct 15, it’s a great track. Richmond is ok
  15. Nice track , they did a nice job with their upgrade from the time when Ginx played there on the honor system
  16. That was me thanks again, have a friend up here who grew up in stonington and has an aunt who works there , who hooked us up last year
  17. Pros from Dover in town this week, too bad no fans, tiger played winged foot today with JT , thinking others did as well. Nice stretch upcoming. Good to have sports back.
  18. Recognize I think 2 and 18 in 1st and 3rd pics, forget which the middle is
  19. Yeah from the golds there are a lot of long carries, love the course but play can be really slow there, especially on weekends
  20. Looking forward to the PGA, tight fairways, will be interesting to see if Bryson’s bomb it regardless will pay off. Koepka will be there, he always is. Should be fun to watch championship anything. gotta hand it to the PGA, they have handled Covid well with the logistics challenges of moving your whole setup every week. Good on the players for staying clean, even when it looked dicey in the beginning with some guys getting it. Don’t think there has been a case in a month. If golf can do it, you hope football can as well.
  21. OSome of the courses you play in Florida are unbelievable with houses right off the fairway. I pull hooked a ball and broke a window one time, the person came out and tried to get me to pay for a replacement. I had to laugh... felt bad though I ripped that sucker good
  22. Both my son and I were in those yards off the 1st tee, he said to me why would anyone live there. Can’t ever sit in your backyard in the summer
  23. played green valley from the tips In Portsmouth , Struggled off the tee early , two balls OB on 1st three holes, and another OB on 14, but I am Working on the driver, hit it better after initial struggles didn’t score well with a few big numbers, 44/44
  24. Yeah I wouldn’t think you should be play anything but a stiff shaft, you can also adjust for shaft weight , helps with swing speed and feel the weight of the head.
  25. Yeah even if you don’t buy from the fitter, most places will do it for free, they will get you into the right shaft and then you can shop around, many different manufacturers use the same shafts.
