  1. Crazy how the course looked a couple of months ago, greened up fast with the overseed, although seemed like a lot of the bermuda still present with the warm weather.
  2. Bliss corner, just a couple of miles from me
  3. Earthquake in Portsmouth RI just now?
  4. Most melted on contact, last burst accumulated 1” still on cold surfaces. 33.5/32 was colder earlier Portsmouth RI
  5. 37 at UUU first 30s of the season, no frost yet though
  6. .05” yesterday, 1.17” today. Portsmouth RI
  7. .32” on Monday, .13” this evening, chipping away
  8. .25 round 1 Monday, .25 round 2 Tuesday, 0 yesterday. .5 total for the week.still dry here, but the half inch helped the green up
  9. I have been watering, so ground easily accepts any water, but my neighbors who haven’t been watering, started to green up in spots, but some have long term damage that will require reseeding
  10. .24” neighborhood stations, good start, some quick greening in spots
  11. Heavy fog dampeningthe ground this AM, AC running to get all the dampness out of the house 66.2/66.2 at UUU
  12. Can probably make some money off that now, what’s it trade for on secondary markets. Regardless their success at the Open , as I think a zinger pointed out, supports the notion that speed of the golf swing is a great indicator ofsuccess.
  13. Lawn yesterday, I’ve had to water , with no irrigation, what Little rain we had lately has helped. I thatched, raked and dropped some fert 3 weeks ago, had bounced back nicely.
  14. Just one spot available now
  15. If anyone is interested A group of friends and I are are doing a golf weekend sept 18-20, we are playing fox hop yard the 19th and lake of isles the 20th. We have two spots if you want to join us . We’ll put some $ in for a team event and stableford match, so if you carry a handicap that would Be good but we could work around it if you don’t, let me know.
  16. Be interesting to see if winner finishes below par
  17. Great , it’s members before 11, but allows public play after. Current ownership at NN ruined it. We used to walk it during the week after 2 for $48. Now members pay a walking fee. Don’t think they allow public to walk. Course gets very little play which I think is what the current owner want. Back when you could have water on the course , he pulled all water off the course. I am told they are using styrofoam in the cups.
  18. I play montaup in Portsmouth every week, worth a play. Left is dead on that course though. Newport national in Middletown is a great track, with new ownership you’ll pay over $100 in season, can get away under that after oct 15, it’s a great track. Richmond is ok
  19. Nice track , they did a nice job with their upgrade from the time when Ginx played there on the honor system
  20. That was me thanks again, have a friend up here who grew up in stonington and has an aunt who works there , who hooked us up last year
  21. By the way that dudes lawn is crazy, much easier to do it on his lawn with the grass cut low, key is it to work it in so it doesn’t cover the blades and he notes and get that rather coarse sand
  22. I tried it for some low areas, it leveled it out fine but I didn’t use the right kind of sand, make sure you get the right sand. that area tends to dry out in the summer because the sand was too fine and gets hard packed. I have fine fescue and keep it long , I just raked it in the level it out, that part worked ok
  23. Pros from Dover in town this week, too bad no fans, tiger played winged foot today with JT , thinking others did as well. Nice stretch upcoming. Good to have sports back.
