That's what my SIL's yard looks like in Portsmouth, RI where I was for Christmas. Her lawn is still growing. I actually enjoyed a cocktail in the sun in the upper 50's. It looked and felt like an early April Easter. That, combined with the recent deluge up north got me thinking how this winter has been a total freaking disaster, especially with nothing to track on the horizon. Sunsets are later, days are getting longer. The freaking ground up at my cabin is not only bare, but not even frozen.

Sorry, had to get it out before I took it out on my dog.

Same , visited family for Xmas and at my FIL in Portsmouth, about half a dozen lawns were freshly mowed. I always mowed late when we lived there. I think maybe once could I have mowed around the end of December. Xmas was a beautiful day , upper 50s as you said with no wind.

  2. Was in Newport this week for work. Although humid dews in the mid 70s just can’t compare to Florida where the heat humidity combo is special. Boy is it dry up there as well. Can’t remember seeing so many burnt out lawns and stressed landscape.  At least in Fl the heat humidity combo yields daily TS.

  3. I’m now 25 minutes from TPC, was ripping and now cold 32 at my place this morning, no wind. 5” of rain last few days, but they can deal with that kind of rain down here no problem

So this is or was (as of tomorrow) my neighborhood. Our old house was cut off with this wash out. My house is behind one of the one you see looking up the hill. Not there to see the damage. My understanding is the road was mostly repaired by late afternoon

For back edge, I turned our rock outcropping into a bed several years ago. Slowly adding some more plants.
Ended up doing a strip by our fence to jazz it up.
