Maybe technically off-topic but a perk of living downwind of Lake Michigan...bonus snow.

I literally hate this map! Spent a good deal of my life living an 1/8 inch just north of Warsaw, and watching from my bedroom window, the lake effect clouds and snow falling only 3 miles to my north, while I had stars and nothing... the root of my thirst!

    Lol.

I have early morning clinicals that I can't risk missing...otherwise I'd do it myself.

    -.-

Of course.  I was only remarking how kind and thoughtful it was your plow driver cleared the stoop for you, as well.

    Wilma, I gotchu'!

I should probably be measuring but I don't. The snow falls and then it settles and then it falls again. It's almost always doing both at the same time.

Since I last paid attention, probably around Saturday, we have picked up in excess of 8-10 inches of snow. I have a guy that plows my driveway every morning around 5am and for some reason he shovels my steps? Anyways, yeah. Probably 8-10 inches since Saturday...and that isn't counting the last few inches we picked up since I went out at 3pm.

    How east coast.

It's been a great start to Winter here too... 9.2" today,(yes, it's still snowing), a season total over 45", and a depth approaching 20" on Novemeber 19th.  Hard to complain, and no, I don't think I could live anywhere else, either.

^Wow it looks like deeeeep winter there!

Definitely!  And I'm still eating Halloween candy!

Still snowing hard at times, and should into the evening.  Way over achieved with this event.  Forecast was for up to 5", I'll likely be double that before it ends.

Quick depth measurement in the yard

I have serious doubts about the depth in Niagara County or the Enscarpment itself. There are areas that literally got nothing up there, seriously? How is that even possible?

The snow hole in Niagara has a 1.5-2" season total.  Areas that have seen no snow to date would be just plain white, so the only place on the map I see that hasn't had any snow is on the Jersey shore.  I think the map is pretty accurate... not 100%, of course.

Neat map although its a bit low in this area. I notice models have trouble with early season snow right on the water & for whatever reason that snow total map is also low along the water in eastern MI. Now we have been lower totals right along the water, not as low as the map shows. I'm at 2.8" so far here but that map indicates 1.5 to 2. DTW is 3.6" but the map indicates 2 to 2.5. It will be interesting to see the accuracy level as the Winter progresses.

Probably not 100% accurate but pretty close I think for most areas.
